Advisory group discusses SDC
By Chris Rooney
The North Sonoma Valley Municipal Advisory Council (NSVMAC) will meet Wed., July 20, at 5:30 p.m., and the ongoing issue of the Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC) is once again on the agenda.
The NSVMAC, which reports to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, was created to make recommendations on a range of topics that include transportation, traffic, health and human safety matters, community projects, fire services, and vegetation.
After a presentation by a special guest that had not been selected as of press time, Supervisor Susan Gorin will provide the group with an update of county activity.
The Vegetation Management Grant Program will be discussed by Kim Batchelder of the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District.
Next on the agenda is the continuation of the review of the SDC, specifically as it pertains to the Sonoma Land Trust. John Mc-Caull, land acquisition director for Sonoma Land Trust, will lead the discussion.
Following will be a discussion of coalition of housing and conservation interests in conversation on SDC requests for proposals.
The meeting will be videoconferenced via Zoom at https:// sonomacounty.zoom.us/j/963344 31757?pwd=OXJoSHZHN0I2Nk ZzaHc5NXZqT3pDdz09; contact Hannah Whitman, board aide for Supervisor Gorin, at [email protected] sonoma-county.org.
