A meeting has been tentatively scheduled for August 24 with the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors regarding new plans for the Glen Ellen Inn.

After operating a seven-room inn and a popular restaurant in Glen Ellen for 28 years, Inn owners Chris and Karen Bertrand are hoping to re-open the bar, add a one-room addition in the back, expand the garden, and convert the large dining area into two lodging rooms. “After cooking for 28 years, the fires of 2017, and COVID-19 in 2020, we thought we’d like to downsize and leave the cooking to the other great chefs in Glen Ellen, Sonoma, and Kenwood,” said owner/ chef Chris Bertrand.

A recently published Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the project stated that there were no environmental impacts related to the plans that could not be mitigated. Project materials and documents can be procured via Permit Sonoma’s Project Planner, Cecily Condon, at (707) 565-1958 or [email protected] and through [email protected] Comments regarding this project must be received by Aug. 22.
