Mother Nature puts on a dazzling display in the fall at Jack London State Historic Park, with a blend of gold, orange, brown, and red colors throughout the vineyards, forests, and Jack London’s Beauty Ranch.

On Nov. 12, Deborah Large, who has been photographing and leading hikes in the park for years, will lead a Fall Color Photo Walk. The walk will run from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and begin in the Ranch parking lot, to the right of the entry kiosk.

“We are blessed with a bounty of fall colors and the opportunity to be inspired. On this walk, you can capture that magic in photographs to enjoy all year and share with others. You’ll learn how to make a storytelling image with the use of composition, color, and contrast. We will finish by sharing a few photos from the morning shoot,” Large said.

Although the class is designed for all levels of photographers, participants will get the most out of the class by being familiar with camera controls, whether using a DSLR, a basic point-and-shoot camera, or a smartphone.

Reservations are required and can be made at https://jacklondonpark. com/events/fall-photo-walk-2022/. Tickets are $15 per person, plus a $10 per car entry fee (up to nine passengers). Access to some photography locations is on uneven and rocky surfaces. For more information about accessibility, call (707) 938-5216.
