Glen Ellen wildfire risk analysis coming your way

By Ellie Insley

Fire Safe Sonoma is working with Glen Ellen community members to craft a Community Wildfire Risk Analysis. The goal is to improve wildfire resilience and create a more defensible community. Local coordinators for the project are Mark Newhouser and Ellie Insley. With your input we will identify priority projects that can be funded by grants, including home hardening, vegetation management, and education.

You can help make the project a success by taking a few minutes today to fill out a brief survey telling us about your home, landscape, and neighborhood. You can go directly to the survey at: https://forms. gle/vWrf6PHgMoPRNnLb8 or use the QR code above. The deadline is Thursday,  Nov. 10.

If you would like to organize your immediate neighborhood or street to be more fire-wise, or have already done so, please contact us. An additional risk assessment survey is available for neighborhoods, and input from specific areas is needed, including for Riddle Road, the Chauvet Road/Williams Street area, the area south of Eldridge to Madrone Road, and Warm Springs Road north of Bennett Valley Road.

You can reach Ellie Insley at [email protected] or Mark Newhouser at [email protected] with any questions or comments.
