Kenwood artists display at one-day Depot show

By Jay Gamel

Six local artists will gather to show some of their works at the Kenwood Depot on Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 4 p.m.

Many Sonoma Valley art aficionados are familiar with the multimedia works of Susan Miron through ArtTrails and other venues — glass, weavings, baskets, fine art, and more. Some may have seen Mark Stupich’s fine black-and-white photography at Kenwood Winery (where he was winemaker for many years). A few will have heard about, or seen work by, recent resident Vera Ximenes, a renowned multimedia artist who creates fabric installations, sculptures, and fine art.

Judith Hardenbrook and Steve Turmes also will be exhibiting their fine art for the first time ever. Hardenbrook comes from a line of talented fine artists and has been painting and drawing for many years. Turmes describes himself as an amateur abstract artist who only began to paint a few years ago, but his works are deeply impressive, created with inks and colors he makes from nails, bark, and other materials.

While the show is designed mainly to introduce local artists to Valley residents, some items will be available for purchase.

Refreshments will be available.
