Pets Lifeline hosts holiday gala events Dec. 2-3
https://www.petslifeline.org/ Pets Lifeline, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of cats and dogs in need throughout the Sonoma Valley, is pleased recently announced a series of holiday events to raise funds and encourage pet adoptions on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3.
An integral part of the community for over three decades, Pets Lifeline offers the only safety net for stray and abandoned animals in Sonoma Valley.
The seasonal festivities begin on Friday with Pets Lifeline’s annual Miracle on 8th Street Gala, starting at 6 p.m. The organization’s recently renovated facility will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with a gourmet dinner catered by the girl & the fig restaurant, with fun festivities including a photo booth, a small, elegant auction, and Secret Santa prizes. Tickets are available to purchase for $275 at petslifeline.org.
More holiday fun is set for Saturday. In partnership with the Lions Club, the Sonoma Valley Fire Department, and Sonoma Teen Services, Pets Lifeline will host breakfast with Santa from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., featuring a delicious breakfast buffet with pancakes, eggs, muffins, and more.
Later that afternoon, guests are encouraged to bring their dogs, cats, ferrets, etc., by the facility for photo opportunities with Santa. The Santa Paws event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festivities culminate that evening with a Naughty Santa Dance Party for ages 21+. The event will feature music by DJ JD, small bites, and libations, and will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50, with all proceeds going toward the shelter.
Pets Lifeline’s newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility opened in 2021 and has transformed the organization’s home from a makeshift shelter to a modern animal resource center. The modernized and expanded resource center features an open, light-filled space, indoor/outdoor see-through enclosures where dogs can play or rest, dedicated cat rooms for kittens, older cats, and feral cats, well-equipped classrooms for young children to learn about compassion and respect for all living things, and comfortable dedicated spaces for community members to happily interact with the animals. The nonprofit offers shelter, love, and medical care for stray and abandoned cats and dogs, finds forever homes for homeless pets, reunites owners with their lost pets, offers low-cost spay/neuter and animal wellness services, extensive pet care education programming for children, and helps reduce the number of owner surrenders by offering affordable, small group dog training programs and individual consultations with a certified animal behaviorist. It is the only shelter in Sonoma Valley that takes in stray and abandoned animals.
