The Kenwood Press is an award-winning, community newspaper published the 1st and 15th of every month covering the Northern Sonoma Valley along Highway 12 from Glen Ellen to Kenwood to Oakmont.
The paper was founded in 1988 by Jay Gamel, purchased by Ann and Alec Peters in 1994, and sold to the current publishers, Melissa Dowling and Paul Goguen in 2021. We cover everything from hyper-local to county-wide issues as they affect us in our area. And scarcity breeds demand—people eagerly await the latest issue and often tell us that they read the paper cover-to-cover, which is rare for newspapers. Our local residents, along with second homeowners and weekenders, represent significant spending power.
We mail the paper to 7,500 addresses in Kenwood, Glen Ellen and Oakmont (over 10,000 readers). In addition to this saturation mailing, we distribute another 500 copies to businesses in the City of Sonoma, Sonoma Valley, and Santa Rosa and to subscribers throughout the US. We also drop off the paper for readers throughout Sonoma and Rincon Valley at grocery stores, coffee shops and other businesses.
All of this makes the Kenwood Press a great advertising vehicle. If you want to access customers in the Northern Sonoma Valley, the Kenwood Press is the best way to do that. No other newspaper blankets this market like we do. Many of our advertisers have been with us for years, so we must be doing something right!
The Kenwood Press is an affordable and efficient use of your advertising dollar. We are a family-owned, independent newspaper. We have no agendas, just the goal of serving the community in which we live and work, and getting out important information about news and events in a timely manner. Need help producing your ad? We’ll do it for FREE.
