The following are some of the recent calls from the Glen Ellen and Kenwood area responded to by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sonoma Valley Substation.


January 1 2012
At 12:30 a.m., deputies got a call about underage drinkers having a party on Maple Ave. Deputies went out to the scene and told everyone to leave.

January 1 2012
A Kenwood resident called to report that a relative had gone hiking in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, but had not returned. It later turned out that the person had gone to Lake County instead, and that everything was OK.

January 3 2012
A resident of Arnold Dr. called 9-1-1 stating that she had eaten some marijuana cookies and wasn’t feeling so good. The woman was eventually taken to Kaiser Hospital by a friend.

January 5 2012
At 1:30 a.m. a resident of the 4000 block of Wake Robin Dr. reported that she found her rear door open. It appeared someone had used the bathroom, used a towel, and knocked over her cat’s water bowl, but nothing was taken. A report was filed.

Deputies responded to a possible drug overdose in the 1000 block of Williams Road at 3:47 p.m. The Fire Department responded and transported a 25-year-old mother to Sonoma Valley Hospital for a suspected methamphetamine overdose. The Deputies’ report was sent to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s office to file charges of child endangerment and for violating her parole on a previous DUI conviction in Sacramento.

A resident of the 700 block of Cecelia Drive reported hearing two gunshots in the area about 5:30 p.m. Deputies looked in the adjacent vineyard but couldn’t find anything.

Loud music that was bothering a resident of the 13000 block of Arnold Drive at 10 p.m. was not playing when deputies arrived.

A 24-year-old Kenwood man who reported his landlord for brandishing a deadly weapon was himself arrested for possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation after deputies determined the accusation was false. The event was in the 9000 block of Tonelee Road just before 8 a.m.

In the 15000 block of Marty Drive, a woman returning home at about 4:30 p.m. found the exterior window screen to her bedroom had been torn down to enter her residence. The burglar rummaged through the home but only took a prescription bottle of Percocet.

A resident of the 5000 block of O’Donnell Lane returned home at 5 p.m. to discover the window screen was off a rear patio window. Papers were strewn about and cabinet doors were opened, but nothing was taken. Deputies filed a report.

January 7 2012
A car was burglarized while parked near the county Regional Park in the 14000 block of Arnold Drive at about 11 a.m. A hiker returned to find the front passenger window shattered and her purse missing, along with house keys and an iPod Nano. This has been the site of a number of break-ins over the past year.

A diaper bag was reported stolen from an unlocked car just after noon in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road.

Deputies were unable to locate a reported suspicious vehicle in the 13000 block of Highway 12 at about 2:30 p.m.

January 9 2012
Two laptops, each worth $600, were discovered missing when a resident returned home to the 13000 block of Gibson St. at 12:45 p.m. While the reporting party believed the suspects were still in the residence, a search didn’t find anyone. The burglars entered through the back door. A canvas of neighbors didn’t turn up anything, and no evidence or fingerprints were found.

A man in blue jeans kept driving a Yamaha motorcycle back and forth in front of Kenwood Elementary School at 5 p.m. He was gone by the time deputies arrived.

A resident in the 500 block of Warm Springs Road reported a petty theft from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. A GPS unit, two sets of keys for a mailbox, and a flashlight were taken. Estimated loss, about $280.

Just before 8 p.m., a deputy driving by the Glen Ellen Grocery noticed a suspicious person who ducked into the store. After waiting awhile and watching the man just inside the door, the deputy approached the store, at which time the man bolted. He was detained and found to have shoplifted two cheeses. The 48-year-old transient from Santa Rosa was arrested on a bench warrant.

At 11 p.m. a resident of the 14000 block of Arnold Drive reported that she thought someone was in her attic. Deputies checked the residence, but found nobody inside.

A suspicious vehicle reported at 1:45 p.m. at Lawndale Road and Highway 12 was gone by the time Deputies arrived.

Deputies could not find the source of shots reported around 8 p.m. by a resident of the 1000 block of Warm Springs Road.

A resident in the 2900 block of Cavedale Road called to report that someone had illegally dumped garbage along the road.

A father went to visit his son’s house in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. The son wasn’t home, so the father entered the home and came upon a man. The man said he was there to measure the floors, but then started running from the home. Deputies went out but could not find the intruder.

Deputies went out to the Pic ‘n Pay on Arnold Dr. in response to a call about an aggressive panhandler. The panhandler was contacted and told to move along.

Around 9 p.m., a resident on Turtle Creek Dr. called to report that a suspicious man in a pick-up truck had pulled in the driveway, backed up, parked down the road, and was walking toward the caller’s house. Deputies went out and were able to contact the man at a nearby residence. The man said he had just gotten lost momentarily.

Deputies got a call at 4:30 a.m. about an intoxicated female at a residence in the 13000 block of Arnold Drive. The woman wanted to take a taxi, but didn't have any money. Deputies arranged for her to get a taxi ride to Napa.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of Trinity Road. It turned out to be a PG&E vehicle doing work in the area.

A resident in the 9000 block of Clyde Ave. called to report that someone was trespassing on the property. The situation was resolved.

Around 9 p.m., deputies got a call from a woman in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. She said her son's ex-girlfriend was stalking him and she was parked down the street from the residence. By the time deputies arrived, the vehicle was gone.

Someone stole a tire off a car while it was parked in the 900 block of Madrone Road.

Someone attempted to break into a car that was parked in the 4000 block of Wake Robin Dr. Nothing was taken, but there was damage to the car door.

Deputies responded to a call in the 12000 block of Dunbar Road regarding a civil dispute. The situation was resolved.

A shoplifter was reported taking items from a store in the 13000 block of Arnold Drive, but the store owner declined to press charges.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 11000 block of Dunbar Road. Deputies went out, but the car was gone.

At 4 a.m., deputies got a call from a resident in the 1000 block of Henno Road about a loud party nearby with lots of drumming. Deputies went out to the house where live music was being played and shut down the party.

A home in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road was burgled. A door was forced in and a jewelry box with costume jewelry was taken, as well as $30 in change.

At 10:45 p.m., deputies got a call from a security guard in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. saying he ran off two males in a white pick-up stealing copper from a commercial property. Deputies went out but could not find the vehicle.

A resident in the area of Bonnie Way and Sylvia Dr. reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the road. Deputies went out, didn't find anyone in or near the car, and took the license plate number in order to contact the owner.

A resident of the 11000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported finding three dead goats on the property, and the goats appeared to have been shot. The case is still under investigation.

Someone attempted to enter a residence in the 200 block of Maple Ave. and broke a screen door. Deputies went out but could not find anyone.

In the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road, someone broke into a garage and stole two telescope reflectors worth $2,000 each.

Deputies received a report of a neighbor shooting off a gun in the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road. Deputies contacted the person and determined that he was shooting within the legal rules, which is 150 yards away from any building.

A number of items were taken from the backyard of a home in the 13000 block of Gibson St., including a rototiller, tool chest, and wheelbarrow.

Deputies responded to a dispute between neighbors in the 13000 block of Arnold Drive. Deputies informed the parties that it was a civil situation.

A resident in the 300 block of Lawndale Road reported that their credit cards were being fraudulently used out of state.

A suspicious bicycle was reported in the 13000 block of Carmel Ave. Deputies eventually found the owner of the bike.

A woman in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. reported that some items were missing from her home, and that she thought her neighbor might be the culprit. Deputies contacted the neighbor, who denied taking anything.

A group of drunken men were reported walking around downtown Glen Ellen around 7:30 p.m. They were gone by the time deputies arrived.

Two suspicious men were reported walking around Mission Ave. around 8:50 p.m. Deputies went out but could not find anyone.

Deputies responded to a landlord/tenant dispute in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road. Deputies told the parties it was not a criminal matter.

A resident in the 12000 block of Dunbar Road reported that a credit card was improperly used to charge $150 worth of merchandise.

A resident in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road said a blue Ford pick-up was parked in the driveway and two people were walking around the property. The resident contacted the two, who then fled in the truck. The resident was able to get a partial license plate number.

Deputies were dispatched to the Kenwood Inn & Spa regarding a theft. Rohnert Park police had found a projector that belonged to the inn in the back of a car of a person they had in custody.

A woman in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road called regarding someone she knew who was pounding on the walls and stating that she owed this person money. Deputies determined this was a civil situation.

A car was broken into in the 9000 block of Clyde Ave. Miscellaneous items were taken.

Someone called to report that a raccoon had been hit by a car in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

Deputies got a call regarding a possible assault on a Sonoma Developmental Center patient by another client. The matter was referred to the police at the SDC.

Deputies went out to the 200 block of Frey Road regarding a loud music complaint. The deputy determined the music was not loud.

Deputies got a call about a suspicious vehicle at Sonoma Mountain Road and Warm Springs Road. The vehicle was gone on arrival.

A passerby reported a road rage incident taking place in the 18000 block of Highway 12 just after 8 p.m., with two people pulled over yelling at each other. The two cars had moved on by the time deputies arrived.

A female customer was yelling obscenities at other customers and going in and out of a Glen Ellen store around 5 p.m., resulting in a reprimand from the officer called to the scene. The deputy told her to go home.

A wary resident of the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road called deputies at 6:30 p.m. to investigate a woman who knocked on the door raising money to buy books for children. The solicitor was not found.

Deputies called to the 13000 block of Railroad Avenue were unable to track the source of a loud boom or gunshot reported by two neighbors.

An elderly man who appeared to have dementia turned up at a winery in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. close to 2 p.m. He was identified by employees and his wife came to pick him up.

A dog found at 7:30 p.m. at Nuns Canyon Road at Sonoma Hwy. was returned to his owner.

Deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated man arguing with his son in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. After police contacted the man, they found some crystal methamphetamine in his possession. He was taken to jail.

March 22 2012
A truck parked in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. was broken into, and a tool bag and electronic testing equipment was stolen. Estimated loss: $600.

A resident of the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. received a notice about a bank card that she never applied for. It turned out this card had been used fraudulently to buy $140 worth of pizza.

Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between neighbors in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. involving tree trimming. Deputies informed the parties this was not a criminal matter.

A caller informed the substation that there was a cat walking around a parking lot in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A vehicle was broken into in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. A window was smashed and a purse and cell phone were taken.

Deputies went out to the area of Cold Springs Field and Carmel Ave. regarding a report of a man setting up camp there. Deputies contacted the man and told him not to do that.

Around 9 p.m., deputies contacted a transient in a folding chair at the entrance of Sonoma Valley Regional Park. The man told the deputies he was waiting for a friend. The deputies told the man to move along.

A motorist driving in the 100 block of Adobe Canyon Road at 9 p.m. saw an open gate and lights on at Palo Alto Vineyard Management. Deputies came out and made sure everything was secure.

Deputies got a call about a suspicious male in the 14000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The man was contacted and then released.

A suspicious person was reported in the 14000 block of Carmel Ave. By the time deputies arrived, the person was gone.

April 1 2012
A burglar in the 700 block of Indian Springs Road stole a number of items from a barn, including weed whackers and a chain saw. Estimated loss: $1,450.

April 3 2012
Deputies went out to the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. on a call regarding an intoxicated male. The deputies found the man, determined he had been drinking, and cited him for a probation violation.

Someone passing the Kenwood Farmhouse on Sonoma Hwy. around 5:30 a.m. saw some lights on and doors open, and thought this looked suspicious. Deputies went out and secured the area.

Deputies got a call regarding a possibly intoxicated female around the area of Marshall’s Machine Shop in Kenwood. The woman was reportedly screaming and saying she needed a ride to the courthouse. The situation was resolved.

A little after 10 p.m., a possible drunk driver was reported in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Dunbar Road. The silver and white Expedition was seen swerving on the road and driving at an excessive speed. Deputies could not locate the vehicle.

An employee from the Glen Ellen Village Market reported that the market received a counterfeit bill.

Deputies responded to a domestic situation in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos regarding one party allegedly refusing to turn over a child to another party. Deputies arranged a child custody exchange.

At about 12:45 a.m. deputies got a call from a resident in the 4200 block of Warm Springs Road regarding a possible male prowler on the property who was walking near the garage. Deputies went out but could not find anyone.

An employee from the Glen Ellen Grocery called to report that someone had entered the store and started making threats. This person had been caught stealing before, according to the employee, who asked the sheriff for information about obtaining a restraining order against the individual.

At around 11:30 p.m., a resident of the 100 block of Hoff Road called to complain about a loud party at a nearby rental, possibly involving firecrackers. Deputies went out and had the party quiet down.

Deputies got a call from someone in the 14000 block of Carmel Ave. regarding an ex-girlfriend showing up despite a restraining order. It turned out the woman had not yet been served with a restraining order, so no charges could be filed.

At 6 p.m., deputies got a call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Cavedale Road. Deputies contacted the driver, who said he was just enjoying the view.

A father in the 1000 block of Adobe Canyon Road called and said he was having some issues with his daughter and wanted a deputy to come out and speak to her. A deputy went to the home and had a discussion with the daughter.

At 12:45 a.m., deputies went out to the 1000 block of Hill Road regarding a loud music complaint. When they arrived, they couldn’t hear anything.

A resident in the 6000 block of Sonoma Mountain Road reported hearing five or six shots nearby. Deputies went out but could not locate the source of the gunshots.

Deputies went out to the 13000 block of Williams Road regarding a family disturbance. A woman who was contacted had been drinking, which turned out to be a violation of her probation. She was taken to jail.

A resident in the 13000 block of Williams Road called to report that she thought her ex-husband was defrauding her. The woman was told this was a civil matter.

A resident in the 100 block of Hill Road reported loud music at a neighbor’s house. Deputies went out and got the music turned down.

A Kenwood resident called to complain about a large, loud party at Shaw Park with over 100 people and a deejay. Deputies contacted the partiers who, it turned out, had a permit which allowed them to be there, and also to have music.

Part of a fence was torn down on property in the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The reporting party said he wasn’t sure if the damage was done by an individual or some horses.

A caller living with his grandfather in the 1000 block of Dawn Hill Road reported that the grandfather had locked up all his possessions. Deputies went out to try to resolve the situation.

A motorist in the area of Arnold Dr. and Gibson St. called to report he had been following a drunk driver. Deputies went out but could not find the vehicle.

A deputy driving in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. pulled over a vehicle going 70 miles per hour in a 55 zone. The deputy smelled alcohol and called the California Highway Patrol, which subsequently arrested a 33-year-old Sonoma man for DUI.

Deputies went out to the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. regarding a dispute between neighbors. One woman had accused another of taking her magazines. The situation was resolved.

A woman in the 900 block of Madrone Ave. reported that a man in a car with a camera on the dashboard appeared to be watching her. The car was gone by the time deputies arrived.

A fawn was stuck in a water basin along the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road. Animal control was called.

May 6 2012
A woman and her children living on Burbank Dr. in Glen Ellen came into the substation. The woman said she was afraid her husband, who had just posted bail, was going to return to the home. The family then went to stay at a friend’s house.

Two shots were reported in the area of the 1000 block of Warm Springs Road. Deputies went out but could not find anything.

May 8 2012
Deputies received a report of vandalism in the area of Clyde and Griswold Aves. The reporting party said they had parked a truck in a dirt area and went for a walk with their dog. On returning, they discovered someone had sprayed blue paint on the windows and the top of the truck. Estimated damage: $2,000.

Around 7 p.m., someone called about a horse loose in the 12000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Deputies called Animal Control.

A probation search in the 90 block of Cavedale Road turned up six syringes, a metal spoon with white residue, plastic baggies, and glass pipes for controlled substances. A 42-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants, violation of probation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies went out to the 900 block of Sonoma Glen Circle regarding a previous domestic violence dispute. One of the parties involved was reported back at the residence, and deputies were dispatched to talk to that person.

A woman from the 1000 block of Lawndale Road called the substation around 9:30 p.m., but then couldn’t remember why she was calling.

A lost white poodle was reported in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at 4:50 a.m. in the area of Arnold Dr. and Sonoma Hwy. It turned out someone was just asleep in the car.

A woman in the 1000 block of Hill Road reported that she had established an online relationship with a man from Canada, but then broke off the communication. The man had been sending her offensive emails ever since, and she wanted to pass along that information to deputies.

Someone called to report a loud party with yelling going on in the 15000 block of Woodside Ct. Deputies went out and got the partiers to quiet down.

A resident living in the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. shares a common access road with other residents, and called deputies to report that one of the residents constantly drives too fast.

Deputies went out to the 800 block of Cecilia Dr. regarding a report of a man and woman yelling. The situation was resolved.

A resident in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that someone was growing marijuana on their property.

May 22 2012
A burglary was reported in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. at a residence and a vineyard. Power tools, hand tools, work tables, and building materials were stolen.

A woman living on Carmel Ave. called to report that her ex-husband had violated a court order by having their daughter show him where she lived. The man was arrested.

Staff at Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen reported seeing two men with large backpacks trespassing and walking up a trail around 3 p.m. A staff member asked the men to leave, but they kept walking. A deputy went up the trail on a motorcycle but could not locate anyone.

Fifty-five sprinkler heads were stolen from a vineyard in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Total loss: $352.

Deputies were called out to a large party with underage drinking in the 900 block of Madrone Road. Deputies could not locate the party.

Someone broke into a garage in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road and stole some tools.

June 1 2012
At around 8:30 p.m. deputies were called to investigate a suspicious looking woman at the corner of Highway 12 and Randolph Ave. They found that she was stranded and gave her a ride to Santa Rosa.

A caller found a wallet in the 100 block of Warm Springs Road just before 10 p.m. Deputies returned the wallet to its owner and it turned out that nothing was missing from it.

At 3 p.m. deputies shut down a loud band at Frey Road and Sonoma Hwy.

An intoxicated female limo customer was cited for vandalism to the vehicle. Though she denied scratching the limo, she said she had been unhappy with the service. She was placed under citizen's arrest by the driver a little after 5 p.m. on Kenwood Winery Road. There was no estimate of damage.

At 4 a.m., a neighbor in the in the 13000 block of Arnold Drive heard a loud bang and a man yelling for help. He called the Sheriff, who also dispatched an ambulance. The problem turned out to be a medical emergency and was dealt with swiftly.

Animal Control was called out to help a resident of the 12000 block of Dunbar Road get a skunk out of his barn.

Deputies were dispatched to check out a truck backed up to a vacation home at 10 p.m. Rather than a burglary in progress, it turned out to be new tenants moving in.

A man is being sought for felony battery and violation of probation after demanding drugs from his girlfriend and cutting her head with keys which he threw at her. The incident took place in the first block of Cavedale Road. The woman's mother called the Sheriff.

Deputies called the CHP to check out a car that drove into the creek in the 2000 block of Adobe Canyon Road. CHP officers found an abandoned van, which was towed away.

Neighbors in the 15000 block of Henno Road called around 11 p.m. to complain about a large noisy party with fireworks nearby. Deputies went out to the site and told the partiers to quiet down.

A vehicle hit a young deer in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. Animal Control was contacted.

June 10 2012
Someone called at 11 p.m. about a barking dog in the parking lot of the Glen Ellen Village Market.

A neighbor near Dunbar School called to report a suspicious vehicle parked at the school. Deputies went out and discovered a man sleeping in the car. The man was told to move along.

A resident in the area of Williams and Chauvet Roads called at 11:30 p.m. to report that some neighbors were being too loud. Deputies went to the residence and told the neighbors to quiet down.

June 15 2012
Deputies went out to the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. regarding an altercation between a man and his 22-year-old son. The son had apparently thrown a box of Kleenex at his father and said he was going to kill him. The father subsequently placed the son under citizen’s arrest. Deputies arrested the son for making a death threat and took him to jail.

A resident of the 1000 block of Yell Lane called around 10 p.m. to report hearing a scream and a gunshot. Deputies went out but could not locate anything.

Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident in the 13000 block of Railroad Ave. A boyfriend and girlfriend had gotten into an argument. The woman had gotten into her car, and then the boyfriend backed up his car into hers, causing the woman to suffer minor scratches. The man had taken off by the time deputies arrived, and the matter was referred to the District Attorney’s office.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Sonoma Valley Regional Park parking lot.

A resident of the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report that they thought someone was trying to break into their vehicle. No one was there by the time deputies arrived.

July 2 2012
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the 1100 block of Lawndale Road at 9:45 p.m. By the time deputies arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. The suspect was found in a nearby field, arrested and booked into county jail.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 14000 block of Carmel Ave. regarding threatening phone calls. The victim had received over 30 phone calls threatening his life. The caller is suspected to be the current boyfriend of the victim’s wife, and lives in another county. Officials in the other county were notified but were unable to locate the suspect.

Deputies got a call around 4:30 a.m. from a resident in the 1300 block of Dawn Hill Road regarding a suspicious dark sedan-like vehicle parked in front of the residence for over an hour. Deputies made contact with the driver who, it turned out, was driving a limousine and was looking for an address to pick up a client.

Deputies responded to a call in the 14000 block of Carmel Ave. concerning a verbal dispute between roommates. The situation was resolved.

A Glen Ellen resident called to report finding a purse at Jack London Village. Deputies picked up the purse, found an ID, and returned the purse to the owner in Sonoma. It turned out the purse had been stolen three years ago.

There was a residential burglary in the 1400 block of Warm Springs Road some time during the week before Aug. 6. The owners had been gone, and came back to find the home broken into and $2,500 worth of jewelry taken. There are no suspects as of this time.

A resident in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that his daughter had been a victim of credit card fraud.

Deputies got a call at 3 a.m. from a man in the 900 block of Madrone Road saying that his roommate had hit him in the face. While deputies were en route, the man called again and said he and the roommate had worked things out. Deputies went out to the site anyway to make sure everything was OK.

A resident in the 1900 block of Warm Springs Road called about 8 p.m. to report two people in a truck trespassing on his property. The two asked the resident if he was missing any dogs. The resident thought this was suspicious. While en route, deputies got a call from the people in the truck saying they were caretakers on a neighboring property, and that they had actually found two dogs.

At 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Adobe Canyon Road after receiving a complaint about 30-40 people drinking and making noise at a nearby property. Deputies arrived and the party soon dispersed.

A resident of the 7900 block of Sonoma Mountain Road called at 9:40 p.m. to report a trespasser. The caller said he suspected that maybe there was an illegal marijuana grow on the property. Deputies came out but did not find anyone or any marijuana.

A person in charge of vineyards in the 8000 block of Sonoma Mountain Road called to report that someone had turned off the water valves to the vineyard and stole the valves. Two ten thousand gallon water tanks were drained.

An incident that occurred in Oakmont on Stone Bridge Road on the night of Aug. 6 was incorrectly described in the Aug. 15 issue of the Kenwood Press. The incident did not involve a burglar entering the home while people were inside. It involved a caregiver being mugged outside the home after leaving the residence.

Deputies responded to a petty theft call at the Glen Ellen Village Market. Apparently, a customer had eaten a bowl of soup inside the market but did not pay for it. The individual was put under citizen’s arrest by a staff person. Deputies arrived and issued a petty theft citation.

While driving on London Ranch Road, a deputy passed by a vehicle driving erratically. It turned out there was an intoxicated couple with a young child in the car. The driver was arrested for DUI and the passenger was arrested for public intoxication and also for cruelty to a child. Protective Services was called to come pick up the child.

At 1:15 a.m., deputies went out to the 600 block of Kenilworth on a domestic disturbance call. A woman told deputies that her boyfriend had physically assaulted her and thrown her down on the ground. The boyfriend denied this, but the deputy determined that the boyfriend had been the primary aggressor in the altercation and he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and domestic abuse (eventually all three were charged as misdemeanors). Two guns were also taken from the site for safekeeping, according to deputies.

A woman in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that her home, which was for sale, was receiving mail addressed to someone else, and she felt that was suspicious.

Deputies went out to the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Lawndale Road at 7:30 p.m. for a call about a suspicious male. Deputies contacted the man, checked him out, and told him to move along.

A complaint came in at 11:30 p.m. about a loud teenage party with 15-20 juveniles in the 200 block of Sylvia Dr. Deputies went out and told the teens to turn down the music.

At 7:30 p.m., deputies went out on a call from the 9000 block of Clyde regarding a female who seemed “out of it.” Deputies found a 22-year-old female next to a pick-up, standing by a 52-year-old male who was on probation. Inside the truck deputies found a glass pipe with a usable amount of methamphetamine, .56 grams. The man was arrested for violation of probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia (all charged as misdemeanors). The woman was arrested for being under the influence and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Deputies got a call from a person who had parked their car on Madrone Road. Someone had vandalized their car by scratching it. The caller said that they'd had a confrontation with someone earlier in the day, but did not know the person.

A woman reported that sometime overnight a burglar had broken into her vehicle, which was parked in the 1500 block of Marty Dr., and stolen her purse containing valuables and her credit card. A $250 GPS was also stolen from the vehicle. She believed she had left her car unlocked. Deputies are attempting to follow up on credit card transactions.

A victim in the 100 block of Cypress Ave. reported that her American Express card had been taken and $1,000 charged to the card. She suspected a family member. The Property Crimes unit is following up.

Some time between Oct. 1 and Oct. 14, a burglar broke into a residence in the 1200 block of Adine Court and stole 60-70 pieces of sterling silverware, valued at $4,000-$6,000.

An altercation broke out between a landlord and tenant in the 1400 block of Adobe Canyon Rd. When the tenant attempted to leave the property, the landlord reportedly attempted to stop her and opened a gate which struck the tenant. Deputies arrived and the landlord was booked into the county jail for misdemeanor assault.

A resident in the 800 block of Madrone Road reported that $40 in cash, an identification card, and a social security card was missing, and thought they knew who had taken the items. Deputies went out, located the missing items, and the situation was resolved.

The reporting party said they had tried to resolve this ongoing issue with the neighbor, but with no success. Deputies went out and told the parties involved that this was a civil matter.

Deputies went out to the 1000 block of Hill Road in response to a call from parents who said their teenage son was coming home lately appearing to be under the influence. A deputy went out to counsel the teen. The deputy determined the teen was not under the influence when he spoke with him.

Deputies went out to the Glen Ellen Grocery at about 6 a.m. in response to a burglar alarm going off. Deputies discovered that part of a glass door had been shattered, but there had been no entry into the store. A look at the security tape caught a 24-year-old male familiar to deputies kicking the door and breaking it. Deputies tried to pay a visit to the man, but could not locate him. The matter was sent to the District Attorney's office on a misdemeanor vandalism charge.

A resident in the 12000 block of Dunbar Road reported getting a text message from someone they didn't know that read, “I hid the body. Respond if you know the drop area.” Deputies attempted to follow up, and later determined that it was probably a prank.

Numerous sheriff units and a CHP helicopter were dispatched to Sugarloaf State Park around 5:30 p.m. responding to a report of a man with a gun. Witnesses reported that a white male with no shirt and dreadlock hair was near the Goodspeed trailhead, acting strange, talking to himself, and smashing rocks together. He was reported to be in possession of a gun and large knife. The subject, Cory Solotky, 31, out of Washington State, was located and found to be in possession of a concealed firearm and a high capacity magazine. He was booked into Sonoma County jail.

Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Wolf Run regarding a landowner’s call about two people he was detaining on the property. Deputies contacted the two, determined it was a civil situation of some kind, and released them.

Deputies got a call at 10:37 p.m. regarding possible shots being fired in the area of the 3200 block of Cavedale Road. A deputy went out and located a vehicle on the side of the road with five people. A 19-year-old male was cited for drinking alcohol while under 21. No firearms were present in the vehicle. The deputy continued investigating the possible gunshots, and found 26 spent .30 caliber bullet casings in the road.

In the 1000 block of Schultz Road, deputies found a 17-year-old boy who had reportedly run away from the Valley of the Moon Children’s Home. Deputies returned the boy to the home.

Deputies got a call around midnight from a man in the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road who said that a woman was stalking him and making harassing phone calls, despite the fact that he had a restraining order against her. Deputies forwarded the information to the District Attorney’s office for further investigation.

A resident in the 4200 block of Warm Springs Road called to say there was someone outside pounding on the walls of the residence, which they said was a nightly occurrence. A deputy responded but found nothing.

Deputies were dispatched to the 13000 block of Williams Road in response to a call regarding a suspicious male walking up and down the street. Since there had been a recent burglary in the area, the reporting party wanted him checked out. The deputies were unable to locate the person.

A man called to report that he had just picked up his daughter from an underage party in the 12000 block of Sonoma Hwy., and found there were no adults on scene. Deputies responded as the party was dispersing. CHP also responded, as the parked cars were causing a traffic hazard.

A woman called to report a large party east of Nuns Canyon Road. She said people were crossing the highway, honking and peeling out. The woman called back a few minutes later screaming that there had been gunshots fired, or possibly fireworks. CHP was the first on the scene and everything seemed OK. Deputies arrived and the party was dispersed without incident.

A resident of the 12000 block of Adine Court reported that someone had called purporting to be her grandson and that he was in jail and needed bail money. It turned out that it was a scam, and that the real grandson was not in any legal trouble.

Sometime between Dec. 8 and 10, someone robbed a home in the 2600 block of Warm Springs Road. A door was kicked in to gain entry, the home was ransacked, and a number of items were taken, including jewelry, electrical items, and comic books. The loss was estimated to be several thousand dollars.

Around 7:15 p.m., a resident in the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report a strange woman with no teeth, holding a water bottle and a purse outside her door. The resident did not know who this woman was and told her to go away.

A Hoff Road resident reported hearing gunshots. It was determined that it was probably someone shooting target practice.

At 10 p.m., deputies responded to a reported prowler in the 12000 block of Adine Ct. After arriving at the residence, deputies found a man and a woman who had broken into a guest house on the property. The two were apparently under the influence of methamphetamine, and there were a number of items in the guest house that appeared to be stolen, in particular mail that did not belong to them. A 52-year-old Glen Ellen man was arrested for possessing methamphetamine and possessing stolen property. A 29-year-old woman was arrested for being under the influence.

Deputies got a call about a cat in a cage that was apparently in distress in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Road. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A driver in the area of Warm Springs Road and Bennett Valley Road called at 4:45 p.m. to report a suspicious male walking along Warm Springs Road. Deputies went out but could not find anyone.

Sometime between 2:30 and 9 a.m. a burglar entered the side basement door of the Glen Ellen Inn Restaurant. The only thing that was missing was a mailbox that was used to hold receipts. Cost of the mailbox was about $25.

A resident of Bonnie Way reported that someone had pulled up in a neighbor's driveway in a motor home and was cutting trees. The property of the neighbor was currently vacant. It turns out that the owners of the motor home had just rented the property for six months, and they were cutting the trees because they couldn't get the motor home up the driveway.

Deputies got a call from someone in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. stating that an acquaintance had just hit him with a seatbelt. Deputies went out and resolved the matter.

During the early morning of Dec. 28, someone cut cable wires located in the alley way of the Kenwood shopping center. The person(s) then attempted to break into the Kenwood Market by slamming a heavy object into one of the glass doors. The break-in attempt was unsuccessful. There are no suspects at this time.

A resident of Cypress Ave. called at 10:30 p.m. to report that there was a large party of young people on the block and that it was getting out of hand. By the time deputies arrived, the party was breaking up.
