The following are some of the recent calls from the Glen Ellen and Kenwood area responded to by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sonoma Valley Substation.


January 2 2014
At 10:20 p.m., deputies got a call from a Kenwood resident who reported seeing two people with headlamps walking into the back of Kenwood Community Church. By the time deputies arrived, the two persons and their vehicle were gone, and everything checked out all right.

A suspicious occupied vehicle was reported parked on Griswold Ave. at 10:45 p.m. Deputies went out and made contact with a person. Nothing nefarious was going on.

January 6 2014
A probation check was made on a 44-year-old Glen Ellen man in the 13000 block of Railroad Ave. Suspected methamphetamine was found on his person. A further search found numerous assault rifles and other miscellaneous loaded guns in his possession along with several loaded high capacity magazines. The man was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and had a large amount of paraphernalia indicating he was selling narcotics. Andre Gratien Panassie was arrested for five felony offenses as well as violation of probation.

January 6 2014
A resident in the 200 block of Adobe Canyon Road called around 9 a.m. to report that a neighbor had peeled out in front of his house. The resident said he got in his car to follow the other vehicle to see who it was. Then, according to the resident, the other vehicle tried to run into him. It turned out that the other vehicle was being driven by a neighbor. A deputy went out and spoke with both parties.

A woman in the 13000 block of Williams Road called to report that two of her tires had been slashed, and she may know the person who did it.

Deputies got a call at 8 p.m. about a horse loose in a field in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Animal Control was called.

Two unidentified suspects driving a black pick-up truck were observed at around 3:30 p.m. shattering the side windows of two parked cars on Adobe Canyon Road at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. The suspects fled when they realized a witness had seen them. By the time deputies arrived, the suspects were gone. There was $1,000 of damage to both vehicles.

Someone stole $2,000 worth of tools from a Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC) van while it was parked on the SDC campus.

At 9:30 a.m., deputies got a call from someone who said they just witnessed a narcotic sale transaction between two men in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. A deputy made contact with one of the subjects, and the event was closed with no further action taken.

A suspicious white Volvo was reported parked in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. around 6:15 p.m. A deputy went out and contacted the registered owner. Nothing more.

A resident in the 8000 block of Mission called at 9:45 p.m. to report someone banging on the front door, and then again 30 minutes later. A deputy went out and checked out the premises, but could not find anything.

A person out walking dogs around 11:15 p.m. called to report two suspicious dark sedans parked off of Plaza Park. In the past, drug paraphernalia has been found around that area. A deputy went out, but the suspicious vehicles were gone by the time the deputy arrived.

A car was broken into while parked on Arnold Dr. outside the entrance to Sonoma Valley Regional Park. The victim had gone for a hike in the park. The side window of the vehicle was broken, and the victim’s purse was stolen, which had credit cards, cash, a cell phone, passport and four checks made out to the victim totaling approximately $28,000.

A woman residing in the 100 block of Randolph Ave. reported getting a lot of harassing phone calls, and suspects she knows who it is. Deputies contacted the suspected female caller, confirmed that indeed she was the harasser, and told her to stop.

Two men, apparently intoxicated, were reported yelling at each other in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. A deputy went out but could not find anyone.

A suspicious silver Ford was reported parked in a vineyard off of Madrone Road. A deputy went to the scene, contacted a male subject with the vehicle, and everything checked out OK.

At 8 p.m., deputies got a call about a woman sleeping in the back of a truck parked in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. A deputy drove out and contacted the woman. Nothing further.

Deputies went out to the area of Lawndale Road and Sonoma Hwy. at 9:30 p.m. for a suspicious person call. Deputies contacted a 42-year-old Kenwood woman who was leaning up against a fence with some personal property near her. The woman was on felony probation, with a condition she not drink alcohol. An open bottle of brandy was found with her possessions, and she was arrested on suspicious of violating her probation.

A Kenwood resident called to report that there had possibly been squatters living in a foreclosed home in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos. Deputies contacted the caller and said they would try to find out who currently owned the home.

A suspicious vehicle was reported around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Madrone Road. Deputies went out and contacted a male drive, and everything checked out OK.

January 26 2014
A woman parked her car on the Arnold Dr. side of Sonoma Valley Regional Park and went on a walk with a friend. Upon her return, she found the back window smashed. A purse with $50 cash and credit cards was stolen, along with an iPhone. Cost of replacing the window was estimated at $500.

A resident in the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road called at 12:17 a.m. to report hearing a male and female voice outside, saw lights, and could hear someone in the bushes. The resident turned on the outside lights, and then heard people moving away. She said she would call back if she heard anything else suspicious.

A suspicious white van was reported at 4:45 p.m. around Plaza Park. Everything checked out OK.

February 4 2014
A man walked into the Sonoma Valley Substation to report that as he was working on his mother’s garage in the 700 block of Cecelia Dr., he found an old tin of blasting caps. The man moved the caps to a safer location on the property. The bomb squad went out and destroyed the blasting caps.

In the 13000 block of Arnold Dr., a man carrying grocery bags walked into a business and asked for blue and green nail polish. Employees said the man was acting strangely and then tried to pick a fight. Deputies eventually contacted the man and told him to leave the area.

A woman living on Adobe Canyon Road reportedly stole a bottle of wine from a nearby winery.

Staff at St. Francis Winery reported that over the night of Feb. 3-4, someone tried to pry open the doors of the tasting room.

A woman who had not been back to a vacation rental she owns in the 2000 block of Cavedale Road for about a month called to report finding a sliding glass door broken. The woman reported that no items appeared to have been taken.

A resident in the 8000 block of Sonoma Mtn. Road reported that a suspicious vehicle with a male occupant had been parked off the road for 24 hours. A deputy went out, contacted the man and told him to move along.

Someone stole items from two unlocked vehicles overnight in the 1800 block of Adobe Canyon Road, including sunglasses and binoculars. Estimated loss: $1,000.

A neighbor in the 2000 block of Lawndale Road called around 4:30 p.m. to complain about loud drumming going on nearby. A deputy drove out to the drumming site and spoke with two subjects about the noise.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 4000 block of Lakeside Road reporting that she was being harassed and cyber-stalked. A deputy went out and spoke with the resident.

A resident in the 13000 block of Mound Ave. called at 3 p.m. to report a man had come to the door claiming to be with Farmer’s Insurance, and that he had been sent to do an interior inspection of the home. The man had no Farmer’s Insurance ID, and the resident chased him off. The resident said the man was a white male driving an older red jeep.

A stolen truck was found abandoned in the 400 block of Trinity Road. The truck was still drivable, and the owner was called to pick it up.

A man was reportedly making threats to other residents in a home where he was staying in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. The call was cleared, but a deputy was called back out to the location later regarding a possible physical altercation between two men. After listening to both men, the deputy cited one of them and sent an incident report to the District Attorney’s office for possible charges.

A resident in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called at 6:30 p.m. to report that someone was trespassing on a neighbor’s property. A deputy went out and contacted a male. Nothing further.

Deputies got a call from someone in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. stating that they just had their dog neutered, and there appeared to be some medical complications. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A resident in the 300 block of Adobe Canyon Road called to report seeing a trespasser on a neighbor’s property. The resident said the trespasser might be sleeping on the property.

A caller from Glen Ellen reported that there was a package outside the Glen Ellen Post Office. It turned out to be a paper bag with a purse inside. There was an ID in the purse, so deputies were able to track down the owner. The woman to whom the purse belonged said the purse had gone missing at a local winery. She also said that nothing was missing from the purse.

A deputy went out to the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. regarding a call about a man trying to get back into a house after he was no longer allowed on the property. The deputy resolved the matter.

Deputies got a call about some illegal dumping occurring in the 12000 block of Wolf Run.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at Sonoma Hwy. and Dunbar Road. A deputy contacted the vehicle and everything checked out OK.

A resident in the area of Dunbar Road and Sylvia Road called to report two suspicious vehicles. Deputies went out but could not locate anyone.

A suspicious person was seen walking around Madrone Road. A deputy went out and told the man to move along.

An injured dog was reported on the side of the road in the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Animal Control was called.

Deputies got a call about a burglary in process in the 800 block of Marty Dr. Deputies contacted the victim, who said that he had opened his car door and found a man inside. The man then ran away with a pair of binoculars. Deputies searched the area and found the man trying to exit a back yard on Marty Dr. At least four other victims then told deputies their vehicles had also been broken into. It turned out the suspect lived in the area and was on probation for burglary. Deputies searched his home and found a number of apparently stolen items inside a hot water heater closet, including a GPS, sunglasses, cell phones, radar detector, battery charger, tools and prescription bottles. Bradley Stavas, 26, was arrested for felony possession of stolen property, felony violation of probation, and felony possession of a controlled substance.

An unlocked vehicle was burgled overnight in the 800 block of Martin St. A mini iPod, a cordless tool set, and a drill set were stolen.

A resident in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that a homeless man was continuing to camp on his property even though he had repeatedly asked the man to leave. A deputy went out and resolved the situation.

Someone called to report a lost dog in the area of Arnold Dr. in Glen Ellen. The dog was a German Shepherd mix, weighed over 100 pounds, and had a collar and a microchip. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A resident in the 2000 block of Bristol Road called a little before midnight to complain about a large, loud party that had been going on all day at a nearby residence. By the time a deputy arrived on the scene, the party was over.

A young man found a number of power tools under a bush in the Sonoma Glen Cir. area. He brought the tools home and they were then dropped off at the substation.

A 53-year old Kenwood woman, apparently intoxicated, was arrested and taken to jail for suspicion of breaking into a local business off of Sonoma Hwy.

A suspicious green Mercedes was reported in the area of Mission Dr. and Greene St. A deputy went out, contacted the driver, and everything checked out OK.

A resident in the 13000 block of Gibson St. called to report that an unauthorized person had used her Best Buy card at a store in the Southern California city of Hawthorne.

A resident of Curreri Road in Glen Ellen called to report that a man in his early 20s with long hair had been seen creeping around her house the last two evenings. Nothing further.

Two gunshots were reported in the area behind Chateau St. Jean. Nothing was found.

A resident of the 5000 block of O’Donnell Lane received a threatening letter and wanted deputies to take a look at it.

A neighbor of a residence in the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report that the door was open and a dog was barking. The caller said the neighbor’s car was not there. A deputy went out, and it turned out that another neighbor was at the residence cleaning the house.

A resident in the 14000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report a possible prowler. The caller said she heard a female voice outside. A deputy went out and contacted a female subject, who was possibly intoxicated. Nothing further.

A deputy went out to the 8000 block of Mission Dr. regarding two male subjects reportedly in a driveway and walking around a residence. The deputy made contact with the subjects, who said they were looking for a house to rent.

A male driver was pulled over by a deputy at Madrone Road and Sonoma Hwy. around 8 p.m. after failing to stay in his lane. The man said he had been drinking. It was determined the man was driving under the influence, and he was turned over to the California Highway Patrol.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Madrone Road. A unit went out and located a vehicle with a broken window. The car’s owner was then contacted.

A deputy was flagged down near Shady Acres by a resident who had an apparently lost a German Shepherd. After knocking on a few doors on the lane, the dog’s owner was found.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked off the road with its passenger door open on Sonoma Hwy. at Shaw Ave. The vehicle was later towed.

At around 10:15 p.m. in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave., a man and a woman were screaming at each other. A deputy went out to talk to the pair, who apparently had been yelling about two dogs fighting. The matter was resolved.

A woman reported losing her diamond ring five days earlier, while she was staying in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr.

A caller reported seeing two men walking on a trail in Jack London State Park, one of whom was carrying a rifle. The caller was concerned the men might be associated with a marijuana grow. The person called back later to say the men were now gone.

A Treehaven Lane resident reported receiving annoying phone calls for over two months from a man saying, “I know who you are. You want to talk to me.” When the resident called the listed number, the phone line was reported as disconnected.

A resident living in the 13000 block of Williams Road said that their Social Security number had been fraudulently used to file taxes in Florida.

At 3:45 a.m., deputies responded to a call about a fight. Three men who had been dropped off by a cab at the Kenwood gas station reportedly refused to pay and then got into a physical altercation with another passenger in the cab, an acquaintance of the cab driver. The victim had some injuries to his face, but declined medical attention. The three suspects could not be located.

Shortly after 9 p.m., a woman in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road reported hearing someone trying to take off a screen door and walking around outside. A deputy went and checked out the area, but could not find anything.

A resident in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report a fraud. The victim had sold a ring on eBay, mailed the ring to the buyer in London, but never got paid. The value of the ring was estimated to be $6,300.

An off-site owner of a Cavedale Road property called to report receiving an email from a neighbor about a number of suspicious vehicles on the property. A deputy drove out to the site, but could only find one truck, which belonged on the property.

Someone stole three reflective address signs from a residence on Bristol Road.

A suspicious white van was reported parked in the area of Brown Ave. and Misbro Way. The caller said the van had been there earlier in the day going from driveway to driveway. The vehicle was gone by the time deputies arrived.

A homeowner in the 9000 block of Clyde Ave. called about an estranged brother loading things into a truck from the garage, even though the caller said he legally should not have been on the property. A deputy went out and determined it was a civil situation, and directed the brother to put the items back until he could legally prove he had a right to them.

A resident in the 13000 block of Henno Road called to report a scam. The resident had received repeated calls saying he had won $5.5 million, and all he needed to do was send $150 to get the award.

A caller from the 1000 block of Hill Road said that earlier in the morning a man had pounded on the front door. The caller said she had no idea who the man was, and did not get a description of the subject.

Deputies went out to the 13000 block of Williams Road regarding one person shoving another. The parties agreed to stay way from each other for the rest of the evening.

A real estate agent handling property in the 13000 block of Williams Road called to report that the front door was found open and an oven was missing, a Thermador 36-inch with six burners. Nothing else had been taken. Estimated loss: $3,000.

There was a report of a verbal dispute between two people in the area of Martin St. and Marty Dr. By the time deputies arrived, the two were gone.

A local business in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. reported a possible attempted burglary. A brass handle on one of the doors had been pulled off. There was no entry into the business itself.

At a little after 9 p.m., a California Highway Patrol officer attempted to pull over a vehicle speeding through Kenwood on Sonoma Hwy. The vehicle pulled onto Greene St., stopped, and a man got out of the vehicle and started running toward the Kenwood shopping center. CHP called Sonoma County Sheriff for aid. After a short search, they found the man in Palooza Restaurant in the shopping center. According to restaurant staff, the man asked to use the phone and then called Vern's Taxi. Deputies entered the restaurant and apprehended a 31-year old Sebastopol man. Deputies cancelled the taxi. The man was turned over to CHP and was booked on a variety of charges, including evading police and a violation of probation.

A man who works on a local ranch in Kenwood called to report that his truck had been vandalized while parked in a parking lot. The man said he suspects the perpetrator is someone with whom he has an ongoing financial dispute. The possible suspect had been seen on the ranch property earlier, though he did not work there.

Park staff said that some time between 10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. the day before, rocks and boulders near the waterfall were tagged with black markers. A group of males in their early twenties had been seen there drinking beer and making a mess. Estimated cleanup cost: $1,500.

She told the dispatcher that, “it just feels strange.” Deputies contacted one subject, but no report was filed.

A resident reported finding a paper bag with a small amount of marijuana at the northwest corner of Maple Ave. and Los Guilicos. The bag contained several zip lock baggies with a strong odor of marijuana. The officer found small amounts of marijuana buds and two glass pipes, commonly used for smoking marijuana. The stuff was taken by the deputy, consolidated and found to weigh 6.44 grams. The marijuana was turned in for destruction along with the pipes.

Lots of noise was reported coming from a wedding party at the Kenwood Depot at about 8:30 p.m. The reporting party wanted to file a formal complaint and was willing to make a citizen's arrest. The wedding party said they had been told by the lessor that they could have music until 10 p.m. Officers found several loud speakers outside and ordered them turned off. The party was instructed to turn the music down.

A noisy party in the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. was reported just after midnight by a neighbor who said there was underage drinking and vehicles were blocking his driveway. Officers found 45 people at the residence and advised them to shut their party down and move cars out of driveway. No underage drinking was found.

A tall, bare-chested man in jeans was harassing customers at 7:30 p.m. in the 13000 block of Arnold Drive. Deputies were directed to the rear of the business where they noticed the smell of burning marijuana. A deputy spotted a clear baggie in the subject's open backpack that had a small amount of marijuana. The man did not have a marijuana medical card and was cited and released for possession of under an ounce of concentrated cannabis.

After noticing several unauthorized charges, a caller from the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. reported a sophisticated credit card scam. After obtaining the card or card numbers, the perpetrator called the issuing bank to provide an address change, and then called before each of several high charges to lull suspicion at the bank. Purchases were made from a bullion company and a coin company in amounts close to $1,500 on three separate occasions. The calls came from Vancouver, Wash. A report was filed.

Deputies got a call at 3:30 p.m. from a woman driving in the 700 block of Lawndale Road who said a woman in a car was following her and yelling expletives. According to the caller, the two knew each other through working for a local volunteer organization. The caller said the other woman was now honking and trying to cut her off. A deputy went out and pulled over the harassing driver, discussed the situation, and then advised the woman to stay away from the program and its volunteers.

He said she then broke a window, started yelling and swearing, and then struck his vehicle again before leaving. The man told deputies he did not want to have the woman prosecuted.

Deputies responded to an assault call in the 100 block of Waldruhe Heights. A deputy arrived at the site to meet with the female caller, and saw that the woman had blood on the side of her face and her arm was bruised. The deputy also saw that 10 to 15 windows had been broken and there was glass everywhere. The woman told the deputy that she and her ex-boyfriend had gotten into an argument, it had gotten physical, and the ex-boyfriend had pushed her to the ground and hit her on the side of the head. Deputies went to look for the suspect, but were not able to find him. The matter is still under investigation.

About 62 marijuana plants 4-6 feet tall were eradicated from the property of Deerfield Ranch Winery. Sgt. Steve Gossett of the narcotics division said the grow was spotted by aerial surveillance that was going on in Sonoma Valley at the time. Gossett said his division has recently received a number of complaints about clandestine grows on private property. The plants were well-hidden amongst blackberry bushes, and Gossett said winery staff were unaware of the grow.

The caller said two trucks, one a large freightliner, had caused thousands of dollars worth of damage by parking on a recently treated hay field that had been seeded with expensive seed. A verbal dispute had ensued between the caller and the truck drivers, and the caller had managed to block and detain one of the trucks. A deputy went out and resolved the situation.

A fight broke out during an adult soccer game in Shaw Park in Kenwood. The victim said there had been a disagreement over a foul, and that he was physically attacked by another man, and then the suspect’s brother also jumped in and threatened to beat him up. The victim said he did not want to press any charges, but just wanted the incident documented by the sheriff’s office.

Officers went to serve two outstanding warrants at a residence in the 1000 block of Lawndale Road. When they got there, they saw a number of marijuana plants, some of which they seized. A person was subsequently arrested for suspected illegal planting and cultivation of marijuana, as well as possession for sale.

A little after midnight, a caller reported a van with its lights on honking on Channing Row next to Plaza Park, and also some yelling. The van then left.

Someone reported a dog locked in a car in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 3800 block of Cavedale Road, with possibly illegal camping going on. A deputy went out and told the parties to move along.

A young resident in the 200 block of Sylvia Dr. called to report that two trucks were in front of the house, and one man came and knocked on the door. The subjects then left.

Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of Madrone Road. A tenant and her landlord had gotten into a verbal argument regarding when she was supposed to leave her apartment. The tenant said the landlord had pushed her and she wanted him arrested. A deputy did arrest the landlord on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

At 9:15 p.m. deputies got a call about loud music and noise from the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A deputy went out to a location in the Kenwood Shopping Center and got things to quiet down.

A caller from the Sonoma Valley Regional Park said there was a heavily intoxicated man in the parking lot surrounded by beer cans. The caller then said a sober driver had just arrived to pick the man up.

A woman staying with friends in a vacation rental in the 13000 block of Carmel Ave. called at 11 p.m. regarding a vehicle that kept driving by the house and setting off the motion sensors. A deputy went out, checked the area, and everything was fine.

A Glen Ellen resident reported loud music coming from a vacation rental in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr.

A resident of the 700 block of Trinity Road reported that she was getting calls about loans and accounts that she did not have. She said she would follow up with the financial institutions that were contacting her.

A gunshot was heard around 8 p.m. in the 13000 block of Henno Road. A deputy went out but could not find the source of the gunshot.

At around 4 p.m. a motorist in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. reported seeing two males staggering by the side of the road carrying bottles in paper bags. Nothing further.

Deputies went to serve a felony warrant on a man reported to be in the area of the Jack London Lodge. Deputies contacted a female acquaintance at that location, who then lied about the location of the wanted man, thus allowing the man to flee. The woman was arrested for obstructing an investigation as well as for violating her probation.

A small dog was reported running around at the intersection of Arnold Dr. and Warm Springs Road. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

An off-site owner of a residence in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road reported getting a call from the alarm company about a possible break-in. A neighbor had checked things out and found the back door open, but nothing appeared to be missing.

A resident of the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. called to report that his vehicle had been vandalized.

A GPS device was stolen from a possibly unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Trinity Road.

At a little after 4 p.m., a motorist on Sonoma Hwy. near Warm Springs Road reported passing a vehicle parked on the side of the road, and a man and a woman arguing and engaged in what looked like a physical altercation. A deputy went out and made contact with the two parties, who said the argument was just verbal, and the situation was resolved.

A deputy was called to monitor a civil situation in which a man wanted to get property out of a relative’s home in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road.

A woman at a business in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that someone had gone into the office and left a creepy riddle on her computer, and had moved items around on her desk. The woman said that other odd things had been happening as well. A deputy went out and talked to the woman, and gave her advice as to how to better secure the office space.

Deputies got a call at 12:30 a.m. about noise and loud music from a vacation rental house in the area of Henno Road and Warm Springs Road. A deputy drove out but could not find the source of the noise.

A resident of the 900 block of Madrone Road reported that a former roommate had taken the cable box when he moved out, but the resident was still getting the bills. A deputy called the former roommate and told him to return the cable box.

A disturbance call came in from the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. A man said that a former tenant had come by to pick up her belongings. The woman got angry and when she left she peeled out of the driveway spreading gravel all over his girlfriend’s car. As the former tenant was driving off, she yelled, “F___ your precious BMW.” A deputy went out and saw several scratches and marks on the BMW. The man and his girlfriend said they would handle the matter through the girlfriend’s insurance company.

A group of six young men were reported down at the waterfall at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park vandalizing rocks with spray paint. By the time a deputy arrived, the suspects had already left in a dark-colored SUV. Park staff then cleaned up the mess.

A resident in the area of Shaw and Los Guilicos avenues called around 9:30 p.m. to report that loud music had been playing nearby and going on for hours. A deputy went out and got the music turned down.

A potential victim of fraud called to report paying a 50 percent deposit on a vacation rental ($1,000) on Adobe Canyon Road found on Craigslist. The caller was then contacted by the supposed vacation rental owner asking for the remainder of the fee in order to do repairs on the rental. The caller got suspicious, and called the sheriff’s department to ask if the address of the rental existed. A deputy checked it out and could not find a residence or rental at the address the caller gave.

At 3 a.m., deputies were called out to a report of loud music from a residence in the 2500 block of Lawndale Road. A 51-year old female resident was given a misdemeanor citation for disturbing the peace and told to keep the music at a reasonable level.

A motorist hit and seriously injured a deer in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road, and needed assistance in locating the deer. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

November 27 2014
Deputies responded to a call from a male in the 200 block of Cypress Ave. who said his roommate, a 47-year-old Kenwood man, had punched him in the head several times. The victim said he had swung a baseball bat at the roommate while trying to defend himself, injuring the attacker’s hand. After the roommate was cleared at Sutter Hospital, he was taken to jail.

While parked for an hour in the afternoon, around the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy., a car was broken into and a GPS stolen. Estimated loss: $100.

December 1 2014
A local fire agency discovered a large marijuana grow while checking out something in the 600 block of Cavedale Road. Fire personnel said they had removed the plants, but wanted the sheriff’s department to know.

A motorist called and said that he was on Sonoma Highway following a black U-haul that was throwing papers out the window, ran a red light, and was weaving. The motorist followed the vehicle all the way to Madrone Ave. A deputy did stop the vehicle, but there was nothing further in the report.

California Highway Patrol called around 8 p.m. because CHP was on the scene of a vehicle accident in the 200 block of Maple Ave., and a dog was in a vehicle. Animal Control was called.

A mother called to complain that pornographic magazines were displayed too close to the candy area in the Glen Ellen Grocery Store where her child was shopping for candy. She wanted the offensive magazines covered up. A deputy went out and took care of the situation.

Someone broke into two vehicles parked in the 15000 block of Thomas St. in Eldridge. The only thing of value taken was an old iPod.

A man called from his apartment in the 900 block of Madrone Road saying there were two men outside who wanted to hurt him. A deputy went out and contacted the man. The man was acting paranoid and behaved in a way that led the deputy to believe he was under the influence of a stimulant. The 27-year-old was subsequently arrested for violating his probation and being under the influence of a controlled substance, and was taken to jail.

A woman called about 2 p.m. to report that while she was walking her dogs in Sonoma Valley Regional Park, a man was following her. The man had weird markings on his body and tattoos. A deputy went out to the park, checked the area, but could not locate anyone.

An employee of a business in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report finding a hypodermic needle as he was cleaning the gutters.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 2000 block of London Ranch Road about several bullet holes found in the exterior of his house. The caller thought it might be from hunters in the area.

A man was seen acting suspiciously in a creek bed in Sonoma Valley Regional Park. A deputy went out but could not find the man.

A resident of the 1400 block of Hill Road called at 11 p.m. to report that someone was banging on the window. A deputy drove out to the site, but could not find anyone.

Someone broke a window on a garage door in the 300 block of Lawndale Road, possibly with a BB gun.

A resident of the 100 block of Riddle Road said he was cutting a hedge on his property when a neighbor came out and started an argument. The caller wanted to know what to do if the neighbor started an argument again.

Deputies got a call from a Sonoma Developmental Center officer reporting that the officer had detained a man under the influence, and had found a hypodermic needle in the man's possession. A deputy went out and cited a 25-year-old man for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A resident of the 100 block of Trinity Road reported hearing two loud gunshots at 11:17 p.m. A deputy went out but could not find anything.

A man called from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. to report that his ex-wife was refusing to transfer their child to him as required by a custody order. The caller said that earlier his ex-wife had shoved his girlfriend. A deputy went to the scene and resolved the situation.

A resident of Hoff Road reported hearing four gunshots at 11:30 p.m. A deputy was unable to locate the source of the shooting.

Young people were reported setting off aerial fireworks in the Hoff Road area. Their parents were eventually contacted and told of the situation.

A resident in the 200 block of Lawndale Road called to report that his son's ex-girlfriend was on the property yelling obscenities. The caller said he asked the woman to leave but she refused. A deputy went out, contacted the woman, and told her to move along.

Deputies got a call from a resident of the 2000 block of Trinity Road to alert deputies that he would be engaging in some target practice.

At 11:30 p.m., deputies were called to a large party in the 4500 block of Trinity Road for a report of gunshots being fired. The Napa sheriff’s office, California Highway Patrol, CHP helicopter, and numerous Sonoma County sheriff’s units all responded. Approximately 300 people, mostly juveniles, were at the location, with many intoxicated. The party was dispersed. No gun or injured persons were on the scene, but a spent shell casing from a handgun was located outside. A 19-year-old male who rented the vacation house was arrested and booked for misdemeanor minor in possession of alcohol, and contributing to the delinquency of minors (for providing alcohol). The majority of intoxicated minors were detained and made to call their parents to pick them up.

A prowler was reported in the 100 block of Warm Springs Road. The homeowner said that around 3 a.m., someone had tried to get in through the back door. The caller turned on all the lights but could not see anyone.

A resident living in the area of Carquinez Ave. and Arnold Dr. reported hearing three gunshots over the previous two hours. Deputies went out but did not hear anything. About an hour and a half later, the resident called back and reported hearing 10 more shots.
