The following are some of the recent calls from the Glen Ellen and Kenwood area responded to by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sonoma Valley Substation.


January 1 2015
An offsite owner of a residence in the 900 block of Cecelia Ave. called to report that a woman had been trespassing on the property, apparently trying to find her cat. The caller said he had told the woman not to trespass.

A little after 11 p.m., deputies got a call from a resident in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. saying someone had just rung the doorbell of the house, which was located up a long driveway. Nothing further.

An animal in distress, probably a dog, was heard in the 1000 block of Creekside Crt. Animal Control was called.

Two shots were heard in the area of Garric Ave. and Hill Road. A deputy went out but did not find anything.

A sheriff's helicopter assisted in the extrication of a hiker in Sugarloaf who had fallen off the trail to Gunsight Rock into a gulley and gotten injured.

A suspicious man was reported around 10 a.m. in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. near Marshall's Garage. A deputy went out and contacted the man. The man said he had just parked there, and was on his way to church.

A resident in the 15000 block of Burbank Dr. called around 3 a.m. to report seeing a man in camouflage with a dog jump over a fence onto Sonoma Developmental Center property. A deputy went out and contacted the man. There was nothing further in the report.

A Cypress Ave. resident reported hearing a verbal argument between a man and a woman, and heard slamming sounds. The caller was concerned because a young child lived at the location. A deputy went out, contacted both the man and the woman, and told the male to leave the house.

A neighbor in the area of Gibson St. and Mound Ave. called around 6 p.m. to complain about loud music and a noisy party going on. A deputy came out and told the partiers to quiet down.

A resident of the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. reported a verbal altercation in front of a neighbor’s house between four people. The caller said the three women and a man were arguing and using foul language. Deputies were aware that a possible eviction situation might be going on at the location in question. Nothing further.

Deputies got a call reporting a possible prowler at 1:39 a.m. from a woman home alone in the 100 block of Misbro Way. The woman said she was awakened by loud pounding on the front door and windows. A deputy went out and searched the area, but did not find anything.

A Glen Ellen resident reported seeing a tanker vehicle in the area of Warm Springs Road and Bennett Valley Road which appeared to be pumping something that smelled like sewage into the creek. A deputy went out and it turned out the tanker was actually pumping waste from a private property system into the tanker.

A resident in the 1000 block of Chauvet Road reported hearing rifle shots every 20-30 minutes. A deputy went out but couldn’t find where the shots were coming from.

Around 7 a.m. deputies got a call from the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. about the driver of a white Chevy van who opened the back door, took out a rooster, and then left. The rooster was crowing and making a racket. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A caller in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. was in the process of cleaning up a lot of garbage left by a homeless encampment under the bridge near the Sonoma Developmental Center. The caller said he saw a homeless man still in the encampment and wanted a deputy to come out and talk to the man about the garbage situation. A deputy drove out and discussed the matter with the man in question.

A man tried to use a credit card at Kenwood Fast Gas, but the card was declined, so he paid $10 cash. He got on the phone with the credit card company, who informed him that there was a charge from Kenwood Fast Gas for $26.04. The caller said he wanted a deputy to come out and resolve the matter. Nothing further.

A resident of Hill Road reported that her neighbor, with whom she had ongoing issues, had just driven a tractor to her house and told her that if she didn’t clean out a ditch, he would come in and do it with his backhoe. The resident wanted a deputy to come out and discuss things with all parties, which the deputy did.

A resident in the 900 block of Horn Ave. called to report that he was getting unwanted, sexually harassing text messages. A deputy called the number where the texts were coming from, and left a message telling the perpetrator to knock it off.

A man living in the 7000 block of Oak Shadow Ranch Place reported a strange vehicle in front of his property. He also saw an aerial unit with a camera attached flying over his property. The man got a gun and took a shot at the flying device. He then ran out and saw a man and a woman with remote control equipment. The caller reported that the woman had a very strong English accent. He told deputies that he had put his gun away. Eventually the man who was with the woman got on the phone with deputies and explained that he worked for a civil engineering firm and was doing forensic mapping of the area. He said they didn’t mean to fly the aerial camera over the resident’s property. A deputy went out to the scene and resolved the situation.

January 25 2015
A resident of the 1000 block of Creekside Court called to report a male breaking the windshield of his own vehicle at 2:50 a.m. The caller said the man was intoxicated and was trying to get into the car. A deputy went out and found the man in the driver’s seat. The deputy smelled alcohol, noted that the 21-year-old Sonoma man couldn’t keep his balance and had slurred speech. The man was arrested for public intoxication.

January 31 2015
Volunteers working on behalf of CalTrans reported finding boxes of chemicals around Sonoma Valley Regional Park, and thought they might be part of a methamphetamine lab. The Glen Ellen Fire Department went out and picked up the chemicals for disposal.

February 1 2015
An injured deer was reported in the 15000 block of Arnold Drive near the Sonoma Developmental Center. The call was referred to Animal Control.

Around 9:30 p.m., deputies got a call from a woman in the 14000 block of Arnold Drive about a man lying down behind her car, which was parked in her driveway. The man seemed be intoxicated and talking to himself, saying, “I’m just a man lying down on the ground for no reason.” A deputy went out to the scene but the man was already gone.

A loud argument was reported taking place at 11 a.m. between two men outside in the area of the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The subjects were two homeless men. A deputy went out and contacted one of the men, but could not locate the other. Nothing further.

Someone attempted to break into an outdoor shed on the property of the Kenwood Community Church.

A tenant living on a property in the 2000 block of Lawndale Road called to complain about an apparent threat by the landlord to physically remove the tenant and her boyfriend. Deputies determined the matter was a civil eviction issue.

February 4 2015
A resident on Campagna Lane called to report a vandalism. The owner said her property is very near the large future resort property in Kenwood and it’s hard to physically distinguish where the properties begin and end. The resident said that on several occasions, unwanted people have walked or driven onto her property, which has horse facilities and a home on it, thinking it’s part of the resort property, and yelling insults relating to the resort. Construction workers on her property have also been on the receiving end of verbal abuse. Recently a “No Trespassing” sign was smashed to the ground and destroyed by a heavy object.

A motorist in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. reported that a deer had been hit by a car. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

February 10 2015
A resident in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. said he heard a loud explosion and saw a large amount of smoke. It turned out that a driver had thrown an M-80 out of a car window. Glen Ellen firefighters were on the scene.

Sheriff personnel spotted what looked like a male wanted on outstanding warrants walking along Arnold Drive. in Glen Ellen. The man was stopped and identified, but it turned out he wasn’t the man they were looking for.

A resident of the 500 block of Adobe Canyon Road reported that a German Shepard was attacking his sheep. The call was referred to Animal Control.

A resident in the 13000 block of Mound Ave. called to report an unauthorized use of a home computer. The caller explained that she and her husband were using their computer when their Internet service was disconnected. When the system restarted, it was evident that someone had taken control of the computer from a remote site. They turned off their computer and contacted their Internet service provider, which said it would look into the matter.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park personnel called to report an injured woman with a compound fracture. A Sheriff’s helicopter was sent to assist.

A resident of Cypress Ave. called to complain about loud thumping noises in the neighborhood. A deputy went out but could not find the source of the thumping.

A caretaker of a property in the 12000 block of Henno Road called to report that there was a vehicle that was not supposed to be there, and the garage door was open. A deputy went out and contacted the subjects, one of whom said that she had permission to be on the property. That turned out not to be accurate, and the deputy told the woman to leave and not come back.

There were multiple calls regarding the sound of shots and fireworks in the area of Madrone Road and Marty Drive.

A loud party with bad karaoke was reported in the 13000 block of Marty Dr. The caller had asked the partiers to quiet down, but they refused to do so. A deputy drove out, found a bunch of kids singing, and told them to reduce the volume.

Around 1 a.m., a resident in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report a possible prowler. The caller said a woman was pounding on the front door, possibly a neighbor. A deputy went out, and it turned out there was no prowler.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 2000 block of Lawndale Road regarding a dog that was attacking chickens. Animal Control was called.

Three carloads of juveniles were reported loitering in the area of the 2000 block of Cavedale Road. The caller said this has been an ongoing problem. A deputy went out but was unable to locate anyone.

February 17 2015
A woman who works in the area of Brown Ave. and Greene St. said she was walking a dog when she met a man and they began talking. The woman said the man told her he lived in the area and that he might be able to get her further employment, so she gave him her phone number. Now, the woman said, the man has been calling and harassing her, and has even showed up at her place of work. A deputy counseled the woman on her options as to how to handle the situation.

A resident in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road said a woman in a black SUV was taking pictures of her home. The resident asked the woman what she was doing, and the woman said she worked for the county and was surveying homes with additions. Later, the resident called the county planning agency, but was told that no employees of theirs had been in the area that day.

Someone broke a bathroom window of a studio building in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The resident said the same thing had happened two months ago.

A resident in the 9000 block of Frederica Ave. called deputies about three missing garbage and recycling cans. The resident said she contacted the garbage/recycling company and she was told that they did not take them. The company advised her she would have to pay $75 for each if she wanted replacements.

February 22 2015
At 2 a.m., a Glen Ellen resident called to report hearing five gunshots, and then three more, in the area of the 11000 block of Dunbar Road. A deputy drove out but was unable to locate anything.

Around 11:30 a.m., a motorist driving in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road. called to report an injured mountain lion. Animal Control came out, picked up the animal, and took it to Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue in Petaluma.

A caller driving in the area of Dunbar Road and Arnold Dr. around 6 p.m. reported seeing a man in his late teens or early twenties walking a bicycle along the side of the road and carrying a large traffic sign. A deputy went out and contacted the man. Nothing further.

At 11 p.m., deputies got a call from a resident of the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road about a suspicious male walking in a driveway. When asked what he was doing, the stranger said he was looking for someone, and then started to walk away. A deputy went out but could not locate the man.

An apparently intoxicated man was reported walking along Sonoma Hwy. near Madrone Road.

At 11:30 p.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported parked in the 700 block of Madrone Road. A deputy drove out and it turned out it was a cleaning crew.

March 3 2015
A caller from the 3000 block of Cavedale Road reported that a male guest on the property had just bitten his wife. A deputy went out and talked to all parties. An altercation had apparently taken place, with the woman saying the male guest physically attacked her, and the guest saying he was just tying to protect himself. The woman declined any medical attention. No arrests were made.

A bike was reported locked to a metal fence in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr., and had been there for a number of days.

A resident in the 2000 block of London Ranch Road reported that that a burglar alarm had been triggered by an interior motion sensor. A deputy went out and everything checked out OK.

March 7 2015
There was a “be on the lookout” call at 8 p.m. for a Lexus coupe swerving in and out of lanes on Sonoma Hwy. near Warm Springs Road. A deputy went out but could not locate the vehicle.

A suspicious vehicle was reported at 10:30 a.m. parked in the 900 block of Madrone Ave. with one male passenger. The caller said the man looked like someone who might have been involved in suspicious activity in the area earlier. Nothing further.

A woman in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. called about 8:45 p.m. to report a group of juveniles outside her door whispering, “Is this the house?” She said the peephole of the door appeared to be covered with Silly String, as was the screen door. Then the woman said she heard a bang on the door, but then didn’t see anyone anymore. The woman was advised to rinse off the Silly String.

A suspicious vehicle was reported driving up and down Sonoma Mt. Road near Enterprise Road, a white Chevy with a loud muffler and teens drinking. A unit drove out to the area but could not locate the vehicle.

March 10 2015
A deputy went out to the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. at 4:45 p.m. in response to a call about a man screaming crazy things. The deputy found a man sitting in front of the post office. The man said he hadn’t done anything wrong and began to walk away. The deputy told the man to stop and sit on the bumper of the patrol car, which he did. The deputy smelled alcohol on the man, who became agitated and started to walk away with his bike, telling the deputy to f___ off. The deputy told the man to stop, prompting the man to sling his bike around and flail his arms. At that point, the deputy feared for his safety and tried to subdue the man, who continued to resist. A good amaritan jumped in to help the deputy and the man was put on the ground. Back-up soon arrived and the man was handcuffed, still fighting the officers and threatening them with harm. At some point the man started to run away while in handcuffs, but was caught. A 49-year-old Glen Ellen man, Jeffrey T. Markel, was arrested and taken to jail, charged with felony threatening of a crime with intent to terrorize, as well as obstruction and resisting a peace officer.

A woman in the 2000 block of London ranch Road called to report that she had gone to buy a phone and was told she had a $400 outstanding debt in her account. It turned out that someone had fraudulently opened up an account in Hayward in her name and spent $400.

A red sedan was parked in the 11000 block of Dunbar Road for four days, and a caller said it appeared a man was living out of the car. A deputy went out, contacted the man, and told him to move along.

A dog was reported lost from the 900 block of Lawndale Road. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

Deputies got a call from the 5000 block of Cavedale Road regarding continued trespassing by an ex-boyfriend of one of the tenants on the property. A deputy went out and handled the situation.

March 17 2015
A caller in the 11000 block of Henno Road called to report that his uncle who had recently gotten out of jail had punched him through a screen door. A deputy went out and made contact with both parties. The caller did not want any medical attention. The deputy sorted out the situation.

A man in the 9000 block of Frederica Ave. called to report having a verbal argument with his mother. A deputy went out and calmed the situation down.

An injured deer was reported on the side of the road in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Lawndale Road.

A resident in the 13000 block of Williams Road called to report that her neighbor’s dogs had been outside and barking all night, which the neighbor said was very unusual. A deputy came out. It turned out the neighbor was home, and the dogs were brought inside.

A lost dog was last reported in the 100 block of Trinity Road. Animal Control was called.

March 24 2015
A neighbor in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road called at close to 11 p.m. to report a party nearby with possible underage drinking. A deputy went out to the house in question, contacted an adult there, and then arranged for the parents of the youths attending the party to get rides home.

At 10:45 a.m. a deputy driving in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. near the entrance to Sonoma Valley Regional Park saw that a car parked on the side of the road had a smashed window. The deputy then saw that other cars had been damaged as well. About that time, one of the vehicle’s owners returned from walking in the park. She said she had put her purse and a friend’s purse in the trunk before walking. The trunk was then opened, and the purses were gone. Apparently the thief had seen the woman put the purses in the trunk. Then a citizen came by and told the deputy and the women that he had seen two males hiding in the bushes, who had then taken off in a vehicle. Sensing something suspicious, the citizen wrote down the license plate number. It turned out that a credit card from one of the purses was used for purchases at Santa Rosa Plaza and online. The case is currently still under investigation.

March 25 2015
Around 10:30 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies participated in a pursuit with CHP of a motorcycle with stolen plates. A CHP patrol car had spotted the subject in Santa Rosa and attempted to pull the motorcycle over. The subject took off and led CHP on a high-speed chase that came over Bennett Valley Road, onto Warm Springs Road, then onto Sonoma Hwy. Near Arnold drive, the motorcyclist gave up after the cycle began to break down, and he surrendered. Andrew Stiefel, age 41, was arrested. It turned out he had outstanding warrants for parole violations and burglary. He was carrying an eight-inch blade. Earlier in the chase, on Warm Springs Road, Stiefel had thrown a bag off the motorcycle into a front yard, which turned out to be more than eight grams of methamphetamine.

At 5 a.m., deputies got a call regarding a prowler in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. A woman said a male subject was in front of the house with a flashlight. A deputy went out and made contact with the caller. Nothing further.

March 30 2015
A female motorist was driving through Kenwood on Sonoma Highway at 10 p.m., when a vehicle passing the other direction, toward Sonoma, shot some sticky substance onto her windshield making it very difficult to see. The motorist said she was worried that the substance might have damaged her car’s paint.

A caller said there might be illegal narcotic activity going on in a home in the 800 block of Lorna Dr. The caller also said that there were children in the house. The caller wanted a deputy to come by and check out the situation. Nothing further.

A woman in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report that a woman who used to live in the house was present outside the home and harassing her, and that a few months before, the woman had hit her. A deputy went out and determined it was a landlord/tenant civil issue.

An employer of a business in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report that a female employee was washing her hands in the restroom when a male came in and exposed himself. The identity of the man is known, and the matter is currently under investigation.

A man in the 900 block of Sonoma Glen Cir. called to report that he lost his wallet a few days before.

Deputy signed off on graffiti cleanup in Glen Ellen.

A resident of the 800 block of Madrone Road reported trespassers on her property, hanging out and talking about her. One of the subjects had been harassing her with text messages. The resident thinks they are up to something and have been vandalizing her property. An officer was unable to find anyone on the property

A man who used to live in the 8000 block of Highway 12 called in after a neighbor told him that deputies had visited his old residence the day before. The visit was a follow up to an earlier report.

A suspicious person was reported for possible vandalism in the 13000 block of Cavedale. He was later seen smoking a doobie under the Glen Ellen bridge. The Deputy noted the man has outstanding restraining orders and was going to contact him.

An unoccupied residence in the 5000 block of Cavedale Road was burgled with a loss of over $2,000 in goods, including a gold Nixon watch, gold diamond teardrop necklace, a white Buddha jewelry box, a brown jewelry box, a gold glass ball, prayer beads, and a collection of 100 DVD movies without cases. The victim left for work at 10 a.m.on April 9 and returned after midnight on April 10, finding one jewelry box open on the ground and a kitchen lamp pulled down. Victim suspects a former tenant, a tweaker who entered through the unlocked front door.

A heavy set, middle-aged man entered a store n the 13000 block of Arnold Drive in Glen Ellen at about 1 p.m. and wandered around for a half hour, before sitting next to the cashier and saying, "Hi, you are a crazy lady." He then walked away and hung out by the Glen Ellen bridge and headed to another nearby market.

A resident of the 1000 block of Kenilworth reported returning from a trip and finding jewelry missing along with a live-in contractor.

A resident of Lawndale Road called to report that a grey Toyota had been parked near the Annadel State Park trailhead for three days. A deputy went out and ran the license plate of the vehicle, which showed that the car belonged to a nearby resident.

April 28 2015
The owner of a rental home in the 3000 block of Warm Spring Road reported that someone had stolen a refrigerator and an ATV.

May 1 2015
CHP forwarded a call to the substation at 12:15 a.m. regarding a man who had been stranded by a friend on Sonoma Hwy. near Maple Ave. The man said he had gotten into a verbal argument with the friend. A deputy drove out but could not locate the man.

At 10:30 p.m. deputies got a call about a poster service truck parked in the area of Chateau St. Jean Court and Goff Road. The caller though it was odd to have the truck parked there so late at night. A deputy went out but could not locate the driver.

A resident in the 5000 block of Enterprise Road called needing assistance with a horse that possibly needed to be lifted in a stall. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

An injured dog was reported in the 14000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Animal Control was called.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. regarding a possible residential break-in. The caller said nothing appeared to be taken, but odd things had been done to the pump house, and a window screen to the residence had been removed.

A group of males were reported at 7:30 p.m. shooting off fireworks in the area of Marty Dr. and Cressy Dr.

A resident of Warm Springs Road in Kenwood reported seeing a white 4-door sedan slide off the road onto their property and then take off in the direction of Glen Ellen. A “Be on the Lookout” call was put out for the vehicle, with possible damage to the front end.

A black Nissan was reported dumping a bunch of furniture and windows into a dumpster of an apartment complex in the 15000 block of Marty Dr.

At 2 a.m., deputies got a call from a woman in the 15000 block of Trestle Glen who reported hearing noises in her kitchen, and that her dog was barking. The woman and her daughter were in a bedroom above the garage. A deputy went out and found that a window screen had been popped out. He went into the kitchen and found a raccoon.

At 2 a.m., deputies got a call from a woman in the 15000 block of Trestle Glen who reported hearing noises in her kitchen, and that her dog was barking. The woman and her daughter were in a bedroom above the garage. A deputy went out and found that a window screen had been popped out. He went into the kitchen and found a raccoon.

A tenant of a property in the 800 block of Lorna Dr. called to report that a lock had been cut on a gate. The caller said it might be related to an ongoing dispute they were having with the landlord.

A woman working at Jack London Historic State Park called to report a verbal altercation she had with a man who lives near the park. She said the man told her he would "get her" and that her horse was making too much noise. The woman said she was worried that he might do something, but declined to file a report.

A house in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road was broken into and a television was stolen.

Multiple calls were received around 11 p.m. regarding the sound of multiple gunshots in the the Kenwood village area. A deputy went out but could not locate ther source of the shots.

Deputies were asked to stand outside a group home in the 14000 block of Arnold while a former resident picked up personal items.

A motorist in the 3000 block of Nelligan Road reported a fawn that seemed to be without its mother. The call was referred Fawn Rescue.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked and unoccupied in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road around 5:15 p.m. Apparently, a party was going on on Flicker Hill Road, and there was overflow parking on Warm Springs Road. The caller said the particular car in question was blocking her driveway. The caller said she was nine months pregnant, and was concerned about her ability to leave if she had to. The woman called back a little later to report that the car had been moved.

A suspicious male was reported walking in the 12000 block of Henno Road and looked like he was strung out on drugs. A deputy went out but could not locate the man.

Neighbors in the 200 block of Randolph Ave. reported hearing loud fireworks.

A woman in the 13000 block of Williamson Road reported a possible stalker situation. She said she got a phone call from someone calling himself "Alan", who specifically asked for the woman using her full name. The man told her that she had a beautiful home and then began to make lewd comments. The woman hung up. The woman said she did not know who the man might be, though she said she did meet a man at River Rock Casino recently who offered to buy her lunch, and that the man "had rubbed her the wrong way." A deputy has been attempting to contact the phone number of where the call originated.

A man reported that he got a call from his wife after she heard a noise in the cellar of their home in the 600 block of Via Ferrari. The man instructed his wife to leave the house and go to a neighbor’s. A deputy went out and made contact with the wife. Nothing further.

May 21 2015
An employee of Kenwood Fast Gas called to report that when she arrived at work in the morning, she noticed that the back door had been pried open. She said it appeared that nothing had been taken. Damage to the door was estimated at $1000.

Deputies got a call about someone target shooting for three hours in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Lawndale Road.

Deputies received a complaint at 8 p.m. about a loud party with music and bright lights, maybe a wedding, in the 6000 block of Enterprise Road. The caller said the property was often used as an event site. A deputy went out to the site, but could not access the property because the gate was locked. The deputy did not hear any music, but saw the lights.

A party complaint came from an apartment complex in the 800 block of Madrone Ave. A deputy went to the apartment in question, but no one answered the door and there was no party going on.

A call came in from a resident in the 13000 block of Garric Ave. who said that a man was threatening to beat someone up. A deputy drove out, and as he was approaching the residence, heard a man yelling. The man, who was familiar to police and had an outstanding warrant, then appeared from the property on a bicycle, riding quickly and yelling, “I didn’t do anything!” The man tried to ride the bike past the deputy but was taken to the ground. At this point the man said, “I’m glad you guys are here. I want to take care of that warrant.” The man then volunteered that he had some drugs in his backpack. The deputy searched the backpack and discovered two baggies of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, violation of probation, and possession of a pipe.

A disturbance was reported in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. A resident said there was a lot of noise coming from a vacation rental. The resident said he had tried to contact the manager of the rental property, but had not gotten any response. A deputy was able to contact the manager, who subsequently got ahold of the tenants and told them to quiet down.

A woman staying in a vacation rental with seven other women in the 13000 block of Carmel Ave. reported that they had been walking back from a bar the night before when they were followed by three men. The men began yelling, one saying that the house was his mother’s and demanding to know what they were doing there. When the women woke up the next morning, they discovered that tires on two of their cars had been slashed. A table was also missing and no one could find a key that was in a lockbox outside. The women were afraid the men took the key, so they called the rental manager, who then sent out a locksmith to change the locks.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. who said that there was an ongoing conflict with a neighbor. The neighbor was extremely vulgar, said the caller, and revved his engine consistently day and night.

A resident living near Kenwood School said they heard a truck revving its engine in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. about 2:30 a.m. Then, the truck went around the corner to Kenwood School and spun circles in the baseball field. Est. damage: $400.

A man living in the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. said he had returned from out of town and noticed there was dog poop in the residence that had appeared to have been stepped on. The man had two dogs that went in and out of a doggie door. Upon further inspection of the home, the man discovered that his medicine cabinets had been gone through, and some prescription medications were missing. Nothing else was taken from the home.

In the 300 block of Treehaven Lane, a 90-year-old man became aggressive and refused to exit his car, hitting his nurse who was trying to get him inside his rest home. The CHP who initially responded referred the case to the Sheriff’s department. A deputy who arrived on scene suggested allowing the man to calm down, which he did. A representative from the home eventually helped him inside.

The IRS was closed when deputies called, but they were going to try again later.

At 7 a.m., a resident in the 900 block of Carquinez Ave. called to report two suspicious vehicles parked in front, with one partially blocking the caller’s driveway. There was a white pick up with one male inside, apparently asleep. There was also a mobile home with an unknown number of occupants. A deputy drove out and contacted the vehicles’ occupants. It turned out they had arrived in the middle of the night to visit a neighbor, and did not want to wake them.

Deputies got a call from a woman in the 200 block of Mound Ave. who said she was a potential buyer looking at a house. She said that some real estate agent was there who had just told her to, “go screw yourself.” She said the agent, a male, had refused to leash a dog he had with him. The woman asked dispatch if she should get a handgun. The dispatcher confirmed that the woman did not have a handgun with her, and the woman said she had mentioned the handgun just to get the dispatcher’s attention. A deputy drove out to the site, but there was nothing further in the report.

An estate sale was being held in the 2000 block of Lawndale. The caretaker of the property called to report that someone was trying to steal some of the items, and that the caretaker was in the process of trying to close the front gate in order to trap the suspect’s vehicle. The caretaker said that one of the suspects use to live on the property. A deputy went out and contacted both the caretaker and the possible suspect. Nothing further.

A deputy was doing a security check at Jack London Village a little after midnight when he spotted a known gang member from the city of Sonoma in the parking lot along with two other males and two vehicles. As the deputy approached, one of the vehicles started to drive away. The deputy yelled at the driver to stop, which he did. The identified gang member was on probation. Small amounts of marijuana were found, as were signs of gang affiliation. The 22-year-old was arrested for violation of probation, concealing evidence, and delaying an investigation.

Around 7:30 p.m., deputies got a call from a man at the Kenwood gas station who said he had just been struck in the face by another man. The victim said he was pumping gas when the other man pulled in and parked about an inch from the victim’s car. The caller said he complained about the proximity of the parking job, and the two got into a verbal argument. The victim told the man he was going to call 9-1-1, and at that time the man slammed the victim’s car door twice and tried to grab his cell phone, scratching the victim in the process. The suspect then drove off, with the victim writing down his license plate number. Eventually, deputies contacted the suspect who said he did attempt to grab the victim’s cell phone, but never touched him. It turned out no one wanted to press any charges.

A female called and said her bofriend had just slammed her against the dashboard of a car. A deputy drove out and located the two in a vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. The deputy reported that the woman was crying and had a small amount of blood coming from her nostril. The woman said she didn't want anything done to the boyfriend, and that is was just a verbal argument. She didn't want to press charges, signed a medical release, and was generally uncooperative. The deputy explained that possible domestic violence cases were required to be investigated, and the boyfriend was subsequently arrested and taken to jail.

Deputies got a call a little after 2 a.m. about a disturbance in the 13000 block of Lawndale Road. A female caller said there was a woman running around taking her clothes off. The caller, who sounded intoxicated, said the woman had attempted to assault her. A deputy drove out to look for the woman, and eventually discovered her in a creek area. Apparently she had fallen into blackberry bushes, and the fire department had to be called to help get her out. Nothing futher.

Deputies got a call around 4 a.m. from a resident in the 900 block of Madrone Ave. who said that someone was trying to steal his roommate's Kawasaki motorcycle. A deputy went out and saw two juvenile males, who then covered their faces with bandanas and ran. The deputy chased them down, and then a backup unit arrived. After talking to the juveniles separately, there was conflicting information as to if they were trying to steal the motorcycle, though it was admitted they had gone on You Tube to watch a video on how to hot wire a motorcycle. One of the juveniles also showed a nearby car that had its window and tail light shattered. There was a crowbar nearby. The two were taken to juvenile detention, and information gathered by the deputies was forwarded to the District Attorney's office.

The caller said his father had gotten intoxicated, was belligerent, and had destroyed items in the residence they shared. The father was currently asleep. Soon after though, the man stumbled out of the home and began to get into a car that was in the driveway, but the son had the keys. The deputy determined the man was too drunk to care for himself, and was arrested for public intoxication and taken to county jail.

A deputy went out to the 13000 block of Garric Ave. on a battery call involving family members. It turns out that two sisters had gotten into a physical altercation over the parenting skills of one of the sisters. One had said the other was not a good mother, which prompted the pulling of hair and blows being struck. As they tangled on the floor, their mother tried to intervene but got inadvertently kicked in the face for her trouble. The two sisters were taken to separate hospitals complaining of various pains. The incident was forwarded to the District Attorney's office.

Deputies got a call around 8 p.m. regarding a young female acting eratically at an apartment complex in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. The woman, apparently very drunk, had reportedley been seen jumping on the hood of a car, yellling, and banging on an apartment door and asking about drugs. A deputy went out to the site and approached the woman from behind. The woman began to resist, and the deputy took her to the ground and handcuffed her. She was arrested for vandalism and for public intoxication.

The deputy stopped, and saw a male inside the truck slumped against the driver's door. The man had his private parts hanging out from his open zipper. The deputy also noticed a mason jar in the cupholder with a red liquid. The deputy knocked on the window. The man said he was on his way to meet a friend at a bar in Sonoma, admitted to drinking earlier, and said the mason jar had vodka in it. The man failed an intoxication evaluation. When asked if he had anything illegal in the car, the man said he had drugs. A search of the truck found 17.63 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, methamphetamine pipe, and small baggies. The man, a 53-year-old from Santa Rosa, was arrested for a number of charges relating to possession of a controlled substance.

At 8 a.m., deputies got a call about a suspicious vehicle, a converted old school bus that had been parked for a day on a private road. By the time a deputy arrived, the bus was gone.

At 9:45 p.m., deputies got a call regarding an incident at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. A 50-year-old man was reported yelling at a female acquiantance for taking too long in the shower, and also threatening to take her flashlight away. The man reportedley had been drinking. A deputy drove out, contacted all the parties, and determined it was just a verbal incident. The man said he would go to bed.

A couple living in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. called around 11 p.m. to report a male trespasser on the property. The husband confronted a male who said he was looking for someone, but no one of the name he stated lived on the property. The stranger then left. A deputy went out to the site but was unable to locate the man.

Deputies went out to the 2000 block of Trinity Road regarding a trespassing report. A woman who had been evicted from the property had returned and wouldn’t leave. The woman said she could prove that she wasn’t served the eviction papers properly. The deputy told her that she needed to leave or face a trespassing charge. The woman said she would not leave, and the property owner said he wanted her arrested. The woman continued to refuse to leave, so she was taken into custody for trespassing and violation of probation.

A resident in the 1000 block of Creekside Ct. called to report that his brother had stolen some softball equipment, and this wasn’t the first time this had happened.

Residents in the area of the 3000 block of Lawndale Road reported hearing eight shots at a little after 5:30 a.m. One caller also heard a car speeding away. Later, one of the callers reported finding shell casings.

A motorist in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. reported at 11:33 p.m. that another car had just hit a deer and sped off. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A resident of the 700 block of Cecelia Ave. called to report an ongoing issue with a neighbor who the caller said might be selling drugs. Deputies said they would put an extrap patrol in the area.

A resident of the 14000 block of arnold Dr. reported she was a victim of identity theft in July when someone opened a loan of $3500 in her name. Now the exact same thing had happened to her husband.

An offsite owner of a vacation home in the 200 block of Oak St. called and said a housecleaner had reported that someone had apparently entered the home and left the door open. Nothing appeared to be missing.

A resident of the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. reported that he parked his Toyota Land Cruiser the night before and left the car unlocked. When he came out to the car the next morning, he discovered it had been broken into. An iPhone, car chargers, checkbook, and passport were all missing.

A disturbance was reported at 10:15 p.m. in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The caller said a party had been going on every night for three evenings at a vacation rental. The caller said the owners of the rental had been contacted but the loud partying was still going on. A deputy went out to the house and told everyone to keep it down.

According to a caller, seven trash bags full of “something” had been on the side of the road for three weeks in the 600 block of Warm Springs Road. A deputy was going to go out and take a look.

A resident of an apartment complex in the 900 block of Madrone Ave. called to report that she had returned home and found her boyfriend using drugs. The boyfriend then left with a syringe and spoon, apparently to go to some other apartment. The woman caller said she was concerned because there was a four-year-old child in the apartment. A deputy drove out but could not locate the boyfriend.

Deputies got a call about a loud party still going on in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. A deputy went out and the party had already quieted down.

A subcontractor reported around 8:30 p.m. that he was at a residence in the 1100 block of Kenilworth Ave. to fix a heater. He entered the home to find the the client when a man came out of a room and threatened to shoot the subcontracotr if he ever came on the property again after dark. The subcontractor also said the man grabbed him by the throat and pushed him down some stairs. A unit was sent out to the location, but there was nothing further in the report.

Deputies got a call at 12:30 a.m. from a manager of a tour bus company who said that one of his drivers had been assaulted in the 12000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Apparently, a drunken groom in a wedding party got angry because the driver would not allow people on the bus beyond its seating capacity. According to the driver, the groom punched him in the throat. The driver did not want to press any charges, but the manager wanted to report the incident anyway.

A resident of Dawn Hill Road, who lives on a property with a number of cabins, said that after returning home after a few days away, they saw that all the mailboxes on the property had been left open. The resident wasn’t sure if any mail had been stolen, but thought the incident should be reported.

Deputies got a call from a resident of the 15000 block of Marty Dr. saying her car tires had been slashed twice within a week. The car had been in the parking lot of her apartment complex. The caller said the perpetrator might be a disgruntled ex-girlfriend of her current boyfriend.

A caretaker on a property in the 3500 block of Lawndale Road called to reported that someone in a blue Toyota pick-up had trespassed on the property over the weekend.

A woman in the 1000 block of Robertson Road called to say that up to ten people in black clothing were trespassing, possibly having gained access from a creek. By the time a deputy arrived, the subjects were gone.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. The caller said a brown camper was parked in a nearby pull-out and appears to be camping. A deputy went out but no one was in the vehicle.

A vineyard manager taking care of vines in the 5000 block of Enterprise Road reported that he found a hose going out from the property into an adjacent property. The hose was buried under dirt. The manager did not want to pursue the matter, but wanted it documented.

A renter of a cottage on a property in the 1300 block of Hill Road called to report grafitti. Someone had written the word "South" on the door to the cottage, as well as defaced a no trespassing sign on the property with the word "Bloodborne."

A neighbor in the area of Arnold Dr. and Creekside Court called at 11:45 p.m. to complain about a loud party nearby. A deputy wnet out to quiet down the partiers.

At 1:15 a.m., deputies got a number of complaints about a noisy party still going on in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr.

A caller reported having a verbal argument with a property owner in the area oF Arnold Dr. and Warm Springs Road. The caller said the owner was not allowing him to park in a disabled parking space and was threatening to have the vehicle towed. A deputy went out and resolved the matter.

At 9:45 p.m., deputies got a call from a resident in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. concerning a man who appeared to be stealing tires in a parking lot of an apartment complex. The man was wearing a headlamp. A deputy went out and the premises appeared secured.

A suspicious vehicle was reported parked near the playground of Kenwood School. The caller said he didn’t see anyone inside the vehicle.

Deputies got a call from a woman in the 800 block of Adobe Canyon Road saying she was hearing noises outside like a knocking sound. The sounds had been going on for twenty minutes. A deputy went out and checked all around the house, but did not find anything suspicious.

A disturbance was reported in the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A caller said his roommate just threatened to assault him if he did anything to try and get him evicted. The caller said the suspect had been on the premises for three weeks.

An abandoned motorhome was reported by a nearby resident in the 9000 block of Clyde Ave. The vehicle had been there about a week. The vehicle was tagged for removal.

A group of people had entered Sugarloaf Ridge State Park at 10:30 p.m. and stayed until the morning, leaving behind trash and a number of syringes.

A customer made a scene at the Glen Ellen Grocery. An employee called and said a man was upset because he had bought a $20 bottle of wine but could not open it because the cork had been shoved down too far. The employee said the man had threatened to break the bottle of wine, and was demanding another similar bottle. The man also threatened to report a clerk as an illegal alien, causing the clerk to break into tears. The man, who was a tourist, eventually stormed out.

Someone stole $10 worth of food from the Glen Ellen Village Market. The suspect had eaten food and then went to the cash register to pay, which is not allowed. The person’s food stamp card did not work. The suspect agreed not to return to the store.

A woman in the 100 block of Laurel Ave. called to report that her boyfriend’s ex-wife has been acting erratically and keeps making angry phone calls, even though the ex-wife was asked to stop calling. The woman had tried to block the calls, but without any success. She didn’t want a deputy to contact the ex-wife, but just wanted the incident documented.

A resident in the area of Henno Road and Warm Springs Road called to report that an RV periodically comes and parks at the corner and stays for about a week at a time. The caller said she was not comfortable with this, and asked the deputies if anything could be done.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the area of the 500 block of Lawndale Road who said they saw a male with an SUV towing a junky trailer who appeared to be throwing items over some bushes. Deputies went out and contacted the man, who said he was in the process of moving out of his Adobe Canyon residence and compiling items to take to the jubk yard.

A caller living in an apartment complex in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. called to report the apartment had been broken into, possibly by someone whoo lived in the complex. The caller said she had recently lost her keys and thought they were used to enter her home. The caller gave deputies the address of the possible suspect.

Deputies got a call at 2:30 a.m. from the 8000 block of Summerhill Lane. The caller reported that another man who was living on the property was intoxicated, got agititated, adn slammed the caller's face against a concrete wall. The caller then hit the other man on the head with a stick. A deputy drove out and talked to both parties to sort out the situation. Both men decided not to pursue charges against the other.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road. A caller said the blue Honda Accord had been parked in the same place for three days. A deputy drove out and determined the car was parked legally.

A resident of the 900 block of Via Roble reported that three months ago, she had given someone $10,000 in advance to build a closet, and she had given the person a unique piece of wood to use. The woman said she has never received the closet.

Someone called from the area of the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. and said their five-year old Golden Retriever named Zoey had run away. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A deputy was out on patrol a little after 1 a.m. and spotted a vehicle parked on Warm Springs Road at Wolf Run with a passenger inside.The deputy conatacted the male driver, who said he was just making a phone call. The deputy smelled marijuans, and saw two pipes with marijuana residue, as well as a pipe with white residue. The man, who was on probation, said the pipes belonged to a friend. The man was arrested for possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 200 block of Cavedale Road about a suspicious man and woman. The caler said the two had parked near a vacant house, and the male was walking around. The caller said he contacted the man and told him that this was a private road and he needed to move along. The caller said the man, who had a tattoo on his forehead of an upside down cross, then gave hom an evil look. As far as the caller could tell, the car was still parked there.

A resident of the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called arounf midnight to complain about a large, noisy party going on in a nearby vacation rental. A deputy drove out to the party house and told everyone to quiet down.

A deputy on patrol saw a vehicle driving with no front license plate. The deputy pulled over the car, which had a driver and passenger. The driver said his driver's license was suspended. The deputy asked the driver to get out of the car, and the deputy noticed the man was twitchy, shaking, and sweating profusely, possible indications of being under a controlled substance. The 23-year-old man subsequently failed a field coordination test and was arrested for being under the influence and for driving with a suspended license.

A resident of the 15000 block of Marty Dr. called to report that he was not on site but just got a call about a stranger who was in his back yard. The resident said he had beenn having problems with someone, and the description of the stranger matched this person. A deputy drove out but could not located anyone.

Deputies got a call about 12:30 p.m. regarding a strange man wearing a backpack in the area of Randolph Ave. and Los Guilicos Ave. The man was reportedley looking through windows of parked cars, hiding beghind cars, and drinking what looked to be a bottle of alcohol. Deputies went out and found the man at Shaw Park. The man said he was making his way to Santa Rosa. The deputy determined he had been drinking but was not intoxicated. The man was told to move along.

Someone found a woman's purse in the parking lot of the dog park in the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The purse contained a cell phone and a driver's license. The person who found the purse said they would wait until a deputy came to pick up the purse.

A resident in the 8000 block of Summerhill Lane called at 12:19 a.m. to report that his passport was gone and it might have been stolen. The caller said he suspected his ex-roommate might have taken it. A deputy called the ex-roommate, but that person said he did not have the passport.

A resident in the 200 block of Cypress Ave. reported getting a phone call from an insurance company regarding a vehicle accident they said he had been in that took place in San Diego County. However, the resident said he had not been in an accident and did not own the vehicle that had been involved. Deputies ran the plates given by the insurance company, and it was registered in the Cypress Ave. resident's name but the associated address was in Spring Valley. The man said he had never been to Spring Valley. It was determined that the man was a victim of ID fraud.

A green Subaru was broken into in the parking lot of Jack London State Park.The passenger side window was broken with a rock and purse was stolen. The contents of the purse included cash, credit cards, driver's license, cell phone and check book.

Deputies got a call from an employee of Wellington Vineyards on Dunbar Road saying that he was a victim of fraud. About five weeks before, he had started to get numerous phone calls from a number of people around the country about checks they had recieved supposedly from Wellington Vineyards. The business had never sent out any of these checks. The bank account was closed, and it was recommended that a report be given to law enforcement.

Deputies got a call at 12:07 a.m. from a man in downtown Glen Ellen who said he had been assaulted in Santa Rosa. The man said he drove to Glen Ellen to call sheriff's deputies because he did not want to speak with Santa Rosa city police. The man subsequently told deputies he didn't want to provide any more information on the incident.

Someone at the Kenwood gas station called to report a suspicious vehicle. The car, a Mercury sedan, was laden with stuff, including a drum set. The caller thought this was unusual. A deputy went out but could not find the car.

A person showed up at a rehabilitation home on Warm Springs Road under the influence. The employees did not want the person to be there in that condition. The person became angry and the caller reported he was sitting out in his car. A deputy drove out, but the person was gone by then.

A resident of the 900 block of Sonoma Glen Circle called to report that someone was taking items from his home. A deputy spoke to the caller and eventually determined that this was a civil matter between roommates.

A deputy drove out to the Kenwood Market in response to a report of a intoxicated, belligerent man parked outside. An employee of the market had been able to take the car keys away from the man, an Oakmont resident. After the deputy arrived, the man said he had last had a drink the day before. But the deputy noted slurred speech and the smell of alcohol. The California Highway Ptroll was called in, and the man was arrested under suspicion of having driven under the influence.

A resident living in the area of the 800 block of Warm Springs Road called about continuing noise due to a group of children on a nearby property screaming and jumping on a trampoline, and going on a roof to shoot pellet guns. The caller said the property was a weekend home, and that they had complained to onwers in the past about excessive noise. A deputy went out and determined that the kids were not doing anyhting that warranted any further action.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 9000 bock of Channing Row. A caller said a black car was driving around the neighborhood with the driver yelling. "You suck", out the window. The caller said the car went west on Warm Springs Road, and then came back again. A deputy went out ot the are but could not find anything.

A little after midnight, deputies got a call from the 9000 block of Cecelia Dr. regarding two males yelling and fighting with each other. A deputy contacted one of the men who said he and a friend had gotten into a verbal altercation, and had thrown cans of beer at each other. The man was uncooperative and said that everything was fine now.

Deputies responded to a call from the Jack London Saloon a little after 11 p.m. When they got there, they contacted a woman who said that a man she had a restraining order against was in the bar, and in violation of a court order. The woman said this was not the first time the man had violated the court order to have no contact and stay away, and she wanted to press charges. Deputies contacted the man, who was sitting at the bar. The man said he would finish his drink and leave. The matter was forwrded to the District Attorney's office for further investigation.
