The following are some of the recent calls from the Glen Ellen and Kenwood area responded to by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sonoma Valley Substation.


January 5 2016
A kitchen employee at the Kenwood Restaurant reported that his personal set of prepping knives were missing. He said he placed the knives in a locked locker overnight, and when he returned the lock was gone as was the bag of knives. There were other items of value in the locker that were not taken. Estimated loss: $1,000.

January 5 2016
Deputies got a call at 12:30 a.m. regarding a suspicious silver Mercedes parked in the area of Lawndale and Warm Springs Roads. The caller said the windows were fogged up and he couldn't tell if anyone was inside the vehicle. A deputy drove out and found the car, but no one was inside.

January 7 2016
A resident of the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report an ID theft. The victim received a bill from a bail bonds service saying that $4000 was owed, and that they had his driver's license ID. The victim said he did not know the bail bond subject, and that was not his ID. The victim said he had been the subject of ID theft once before, in 2014. The matter was referred to the Sheriff's fraud division.

January 11 2016
A resident of the 900 block of Madrone Ave. said she was a victim of fraud. She had applied to be a "Mystery Shopper" and received an $1800 check. She was told to deposit the check and then send a portion of the money to someone else. It turned out that the $1800 check was fraudulent.

January 12 2016
Deputies got a report from Nelligan Road of a man possibly screaming for help, yelling "Hey, hey, hey" for a good 30 minutes. A deputy drove out to the area and found a man that was calling cattle.

January 13 2016
An employee of the Glen Ellen Grocery called at 8pm to report that an intoxicated male was causing problems. The employee said the man had touched a customer and was refusing to leave the store. A deputy went out and found the man by the Glen Ellen bridge, stumbling and smelling of alcohol. The suspect also gave the deputy incorrect identification information. The man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

January 13 2016
A visitor to Jack London State Park returned to his rental car and found the front right passenger window smashed. A laptop computer was stolen, valued at $850.

January 15 2016
A resident of the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. reported getting a phone call from a female claiming to be the man's daughter. She was screaming and crying, and said that she had been taken by two men in a van. The man tried to call the number back but the calls did not go through. The man said he did have a daughter away at school, and that he had called the school and she was fine.

Deputies assisted in responding to a call regarding an unconscious man in Sonoma Valley Regional Park. Because of the man's location, it was impossible for fire crews to remove him, so a sheriff's helicopter was called in to extricate the man.

An off-site homeowner of a residence in the 1000 block of Adobe Canyon Road called to report that his video cameras had shown two people illegaly entering his property.

Deputies received a report of a truck illegally dumping lanscape material in the 2000 block of Cavedale Road. A deputy drove out but was unable to locate the truck.

An employee at a business in Jack London Village reported that someone pretending to be a PG&E employee called and claimed there was an outstanding bill that needed to be paid immediately. The scammer told the employee to get a prepaid credit card at CVS and then pass along the credit card number.

January 17 2016
Deputies got a call from a resident in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. who reported getting a phone call from someone claiming to be with PG&E and threatening to turn off the power unless a $1200 bill was paid. The phony PG&E caller told the victim to go CVS pharmacy and purchase a prepaid credit card (often known as a Green Dot cards), load it with $500, and then give that credit card number to the scammer. The victim did this. It turns out this is a common scam. After receiving the credit card number from the victim, the scammer then transfers that money to another card.

January 18 2016
A man was driving in the area of Frederica Ave. and Jessie St. and yelling "You suck" out the window. A similar incident was reported earlier in the month.

January 21 2016
A resident of the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road reported that someone had illegally gotten money out of his bank account and ordered a $400 hoverboard from WalMart. The hoverboard was scheduled to be delivered to an address in Louisiana. The caller was able to cancel the order.

Deputies got a call from a neighbor of a property in the 1000 block of Lawndale Road regarding a potential water theft. The neighbor said a water pipe had burst though the off-site owner of the property had turned off all the power to the utilities. A deputy went out and found that the power was turned off.

A suspicious looking vehicle was reported in a parking lot in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A caller said there was a rough looking male, possibly homeless, hanging around the vehicle, an old Suburban. A deputy went out, found the Suburban unoccupied, and determined nothing nefarious was going on.

January 22 2016
A resident of Waldruhe Heights in Glen Ellen said she had gotten a message from her bank regarding an an illegal attempt to use her credit card for purchases of $850 and $7.50. The bank had successfully blocked the charges.

January 26 2016
Deputies got a call from a man in the 2000 block of Lawndale Road who said his landlord was yelling at he and his girlfriend, and was being threatening. The caller said he was in the middle of trying to move his items off the property. A deputy went out and talked to all the parties.

A man at the Pic n' Pay in Glen Ellen said he put his jacket down and someone stole it. The jacket had keys and money in it. The caller said he thinks he knows the person who took the jacket and wanted a deputy to follow up.

A resident of the 800 block of Madrone Road called and said that her roommates were yelling and fighting with each other. A deputy went out, determined it was a civil matter, and told everyone to quiet down.

A member of a crew cleaning a fire site called to report finding a small open safe in the fire debris.

A grand theft occurred at a business in Glen Ellen in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. Somone broke in and stole jewelry, a valuable guitar, and cash. The total estimated loss was close to $40,000. Editor's Note: This did NOT occur at Opalesce Goldsmith.

A number of neighbors in the area of the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report 20-30 gunshots and explosion sounds. A deputy went outto the area but could not find the source.

Deputies got a call from a resident of Sonoma Glen Circle saying that a brown Honda keeps driving by and shining a flashlight into the caller's house. A deputy drove out but could not locate anyone.

February 2 2016
A woman called to report that she was in the process of moving out of a residence in the 800 block of Madrone Road. The woman said she felt threatened by her roommate, who was yelling and not allowing her into the hosue. A deputy went out and calmed everyone down.

February 5 2016
A business owner in the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road reported that someone had unlawfully written six checks from the busines. The chescks were written out to "cash", and totalled $4000.

A metal box located on a property in the 2000 block of Cavedale Road was broken into and a number of tools were stolen.

A car parked near the Arnold Dr. Sonoma Valley Regional Park trailhead was broken into and a backpack was stolen.

February 7 2016
A little after 6 a.m., a resident of Marty Dr. called to report a raccoon had gotten into the garage. Not knowing the raccoon was there, the caller had let her Great Dane into the garage and the dog had injured the raccoon. The raccoon was still on the property. the matter was referred to Animal Control.

The owner of a brown and white Husky named Cody reported that the dog was lost. The matter was referred to Animal Control

A woman who was moving out of a residence in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. said that she was having an argument with her father over certain belongings. The caller was crying on the phone and said her father had grabbed her by the arm. A deputy went out to the hosue. The daughter said she did not want to press charges, and the deputy waited until she got her items out of the home.

February 8 2016
A homeowner in the 2000 block of Cavedale Road reported two suspicious vehicles on the property. There have been other instances of people trespassing before. A deputy went out, found one vehicle still there, and put in an order to have it towed.

A resident in the 500 block of Aurora Lane reported finding credit cards in the driveway near the garage. The caller wasn't sure how the property could have been accessed since there is a gate.

A woman living in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called about a landscape materials truck parked in front of her residence and blocking access. The woman said she would call back.

February 14 2016
A woman in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road called to report that her daughter and the daughter's stepfather were having a verbal dispute that turned violent. According to the mother, the daughter had stepped outside and when she tried to come back in, the stepfather, who the mother said was intoxicated, had locked the door. The stepfaher then opened the door and punched the stepdaughter in the face. She said she was going to call the police, and at that point the man took off. Deputies drove out and searchd the area for the man, but could not find him

February 14 2016
Six cars were reported parked illegally in front of a gate of a residence in the 2000 block of Cavedale Road. Deputies went out, found that one vehicle was left, and left a warning notice.

A fraud victim in the 5000 block of O'Donnell Lane, called deputies to report that someone had illegally charged $4000 woth of items on a Macy's card.

A resident of the 13000 block of Gibson St. reported that he got a call from a credit union that his credit card was found in Napa. The caller was a college student who still receives some mail at his home address, and that his credit card was about to expire soon. It was assumed that soemone had stolen the newly issued credit card from the home mailbox.

A resident of the 1000 block of Nuns Canyon Road returned home from a trip to find the home had been burglarized. A Toyota Tacoma truck had been stolen along with computers, tax documents, acoustic guitar, and checkbooks. Apparently, the burglar entered through a window and left through the front door. The truck keys had been inside the house.

A suspicious vehicle was reported driving up a hill on Kunde Ranch property. A deputy went out and contacted the occupants of the vehicle. It turned out an employee had brought a lady friend up the hill to see the view.

February 16 2016
A caller contacted deputies about a woman acquaintance who had been on a weekend getaway with a friend in Glen Ellen. The caller said the woman ended up in the hospital and couldn't remember what had happened the 12 hours before, except that the friend she was with was trying to get her to drink more and more alcohol. Doctors had determined the woman had not been sexually assaulted, and the woman said she did not want to make a report.

A suspicious vehicle was reported around 4:30 p.m. parked at the intersection of Cecilia Ave. and Lorna Dr. parked for over four hours with the doors open.

A resident of the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. said they were stuck in their car for fifteen minutes because the neighbor's dogs were being aggressive, running around and growling. The caller said the neighbor was outside smoking a cigarette but would not help out. The caller said the dogss were an ongoing issue. A deputy went out and talked to the neighbor, who said he didn't know what the deputy was talking about.

Two socket wrenches were reported stolen from the 900 block of Lawndale Road. Total loss: $40.

A property manager for a vacation rental in the 5000 block of Warm Springs Road reported that the rental had been vacant for two weeks but there was food in the refrigerator and all the lights had been turned out. It turned out that the last renter had left the food and the cleaning person had accidentally left the lights on.

February 18 2016
Deputies got a call from a resident of the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road. The caller said that the previous night she had gotten two wrong number voice messages of a drug deal nature and threatening harm to a female. The caller saved the mesages, but there was not enough information for deputies to pinpoint the source of the call.

February 22 2016
A resident of the 1300 block of Railroad Ave. reported that she suspected a ring had been stolen by someone she had hired to clean her home. The resident said that she had left the ring on a ring holder, and had gone to the store while the housecleaner, a female, was cleaning. When the resident returned the ring was gone, and the housecleaner was acting nervously and left abruptly. A deputy went over to the housecleaner's home to ask about the ring. The houscleaner told the deputy that she did have the ring, but that she found it under a pile of clothes, thought it was a toy, and forgot to give it back to the resident. The woman gave the deputy the ring.

February 27 2016
A woman in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. called to report that she suspected a relative was going to fradulently use her identity. The woman had not suffered any financial loss as of yet, but said she would let deputies know if something illegal happens.

Deputies got a call from a motorist who said there was a dead deer in the area of Bennett Valley and Ladera Roads. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A resident of the 13000 block of Henno Road called from an offsite location to report that cameras on the property showed a male and a female walking around, staring in windows, and tugging on doors. A deputy contacted the couple. It turned out the caller actually did know the couple, but they hadn't informed him they were coming on the property.

March 3 2016
Deputies got a report from the 13000 block of Lawndale Road about a wildlife camera missing from a tree, as well as missing memory cards from other cameras on the property. The reporting party suggested that deputies ask about the incident at a nearby homeles encampment. Deputies contacted a man at the encampment who said he had indeed been on the property because he wanted to honor a friend who had died at a waterfall on the property some years before, and he didn't want the cameras to take a picture of him trespassing. The man said he had actually left the camera under some brush on the property. The reporting party didn't want any charges filed against the man.

March 9 2016
An employee of Landmark Winery off of Adobe Canyon Road reported that three of the cherry trees around their parking area had been stripped of all their branches. This vandalism had occurred in previous years.

A residnet in the 13000 block of Mound Ave. reported that their entry gate had been vandalize. Damage was estimated at $300.

An female employee of the Jack London bar reported being struck by a male patron after he was asked to leave. The man, who was wearing a red shirt and had lots of tattoos, was then escorted out of the bar by other customers. Nothing further.

A resident in the area of Randolph and Clyde Aves. reported hearing a female yelling "leave me alone" and "go away." The caller did not actually see the person yelling. A deputy went out but could not find anything.

March 13 2016
A lound party at a vacation rental in the area of Garric Ave. and Hill Rd. was reported at 12:22 a.m. A deputy went out and and got the party to quiet down.

Deputies got a few calls about gunshots going off in the area of Arnold Dr. and Carquinez Ave.

A resident living in the area of Burbank Ave. and Marty Dr. called to complain about a car horn honking over a long period of time.

A homeowner who was off site called to report that a security camera had picked up two female trespassers on the caller's property in the 9000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A deputy drove out but could not find anybody.

March 18 2016
A resident of the 13000 block of Woodside called at 3:30 a.m. to report that two people were trying to open the front door. The caller said she might know the people but was not exactly sure. The caller said the two people, a man and a woman were arguing and acting strange, and the woman had said that she had left a cellphone in the house on an earlier occassion. It turned out the caller did know who they were.

A resident of Hoff Road called a little adter 9 a.m. to report a suspicious vehicle had been parked nearby for a few hours. A deputy went out and contacted the drive, who said he had just stopped to take a nap.

A mad called to report that while he was in the proces of moving to a residence on Sonoma Mt. Road, he had a number of items stolen, including a lawnmower, trailer, power washer and jewelry

A woman in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called to report that she was moving out and her father was refusing to give her her belongings.

An owner of a home in the 3000 block of Trinity Road called from Asia to report that a security camera had captured a naked man. A motion detector had turned lights on in the home, causing the surprised naked man, a white male, to run around. A deputy went out to the site but could not find the intruder. He did report back to the homeowner that the comforter was off the bed in the bedroom.

A passerby in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. reported that dogs were in the back of a van that had no windows. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

Two people were detained for trespassing on the property of the Sonoma Developmental Center.

March 22 2016
A little after 11 p.m., deputies got a call from the 13000 block of Gibson St. about an underage party nearby with alcohol and marijuana, and a bunch of cars parked on the road. A deputy went out and shut down the party.

Two bicycles were stolen overnight from the back of a pickup parked in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The value of each bike was estimated at $1500.

March 25 2016
A resident of the 1300 block of Hill Road reported that sometime the night before, a car had hit their front gate. The caller siad he thought it had been done intentionally.

At 7 a.m., deputies got a call about a homeless man and woman in the area of Madrone Road and Sonoma Hwy. The caller said she wasn't comfortable having them so close to a nearby winery. A deputy drove out and found one of the subjects, and told him to move along.

March 28 2016
A resident of the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported that back in 2013 she had an acquaintance help her pack up items into a POD container, which was then taken to a storage facility . When the caller went back to the POD over a year later, she discovered a number of items missing valued at $875. Someone had advised her to make a report even though a long period of time had passed. Deputies tried to contact the acquaintance at the last known place of residence, but wsa told that the person did not live there.

Solar panels were stolen from a property in the 5000 block of Enterprise Road.

A likely abandoned van with expired tags was reported in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Adobe Canyon Road.

A man reported that he and his cousin were hiking in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and the cousin had gotten lost. A number of park and sheriff personnel went out to look for the cousin who, it turned out, was at the Visitor Center.

A man was reported intoxicated and sitting on the ground in the 15000 block of Arnold Dr. The man was not responsive, and an ambulance and deputy went out to the scene. he man was taken home.

April 5 2016
A resident in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. called a little after midnight to report a couple had showed up on her doorstep saying that they had gotten a flat tire and needed help. The caller thought this was suspicious. A deputy went to the scene and it turned out the couple did indeed have a flat tire.

A resident of the 6000 block of Enterprise Road called to complain about a loud party nearby. The caller said he would call back if the disturbance persisted.

An employee of the Glen Ellen Grocery called to report that two people, one of them drunk, had broken some wine bottles, and then left. A deputy went out and made contact with the subjects, who agreed to pay for the broken wine.

A theft was reported at the Kenwood Inn & Spa. A visitor had called to report that someone had stolen items out of his rent-a-car, a garment bag, a woman's jacket, and the car paperwork. Estimated loss: $1000

April 11 2016
Bicyclists had locked up their bikes and went into the Vineyards Inn Restaurant in Kenwood for lunch. When the two came out, the two bikes were gone, one valued at $4500, the other at $1500.

April 13 2016
A deputy was driving by in the area of Sonoma Glen Circle when he saw a 22-year-old male banging on a vehicle that was parked in the middle of the roadway. The deputy asked the man if the vehicle was his and the man said yes, and that the vehicle would not start. The deputy observed that the man was stumbling, almost falling over. The man said he had not been drinking but had taken medication in the morning. The man subsequently failed a field sobriety test. The deputy felt the man was unable to care for his safety, and was arrested for public intoxication.

April 14 2016
Deputies responded to an alarm at the Kenwood Market at 2:18 a.m. and found that a large glass window had been smashed. No one was at the scene. Estimated loss: $500-600.

April 16 2016
A deputy stopped a vehicle at Bennett Valley and Warm Springs Roads. The driver had a suspended license and a passenger was on probation for a petty theft. The passenger had a short straw in his possession that had a crystal substance in it. The passenger said the straw was for his drink, but the size of the straw lent itself more to snorting drugs. The passenger said the straw was not his and that he had found it in his pants, which he also said were not his. The driver was cited for driving with a suspended license and released. The passenger was arrested for violating probation.

April 16 2016
A woman in the 8000 block of Egg Farm Lane called to report that her ex-roommate was harasssing her through texts and emails. The former roommate was threatening the caller's boyfriend with physical harm. The woman said her ex-roommate had a lot of weapons, and that she was afraid. A deputy attempted to contact the ex-roommate. Nothing further.

April 16 2016
A resident in the 1000 block of Trinty Road reported around 10 p.m. a suspicious vehicle parked at a cabin at the bottom of her property. A deputy drove out but could not locate the vehicle.

April 17 2016
Someone pried open a locked mailbox in the 6000 block of Enterprise Road. No mail had been in the box though.

April 18 2016
A resident in the area of Griswold Ave. called around 11:30 p.m. to report a suspicious vehicle, a station wagon, driving very slowly around the area.

April 19 2016
A distrubance was reported in the 700 block of Cecilia Dr. The caller said their neighbor had been yelling at them, and was behaving eratically. A deputy went out and talked with the neighbor.

A resident in the 6000 block of Enterprise Road called to report that their barn had been broken into.

An employee at Kunde Estate Winery called to report that a male patron was possibly under the influence and was acting very agggressively. The employee said the man's wife had eventually taken him to their car and drove away. The employee was afraid the man might return. A deputy went out and was able to conduct a traffic stop on the car, and the wife said that she was driving the man home.

An injured deer was reported on a property on Summerhill Lane. Animal Control was called.

April 24 2016
A supicious vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Adobe Canyon Road. The caller said a brown truck with a trailer had been parked in a turnout for theree weeks and might be abandoned.

April 25 2016
A man residing in the 14000 block of arnold Dr. called to say a relative he had forbidden to enter the home had done so without permission and takedn a numbr of items. The items were later recovered.

An empty safe was found in a dumpster in the parking lot of the Glen Ellen Village Market.

A motorist called at 3 p.m. to report that as he was traveling eastbound on Bennett Valley Road, traffic was stopped because of construction work. A man in the car stopped in front of him, apparently angry that he had been cut off earlier, got out of his car with a gun on his side. The caller said he drove around the construction zone as quickly as possible and then called the sheriff.

A woman left her cell phone in a restroom at a winery in Glen Ellen where she was employed. When she went back to work the next day the phone was gone.

A resident of the 13000 block of Henno Road rported that as was posting No Trespassing signs on his property, he found an encampment and needles.

At 12:19 a.m., deputies got a call from a woman in the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. who said she heard a noise outside the residence and found a man outside a window. The man said he was looking for his wife. A deputy went out but was unable to locate anybody.

Deputies got a call at 12:53 a.m. regarding a male looking at people's houses in the area of Marty Dr. and Thomas St. Someone asked the man what he was doing and he replied that he was looking for his brother. He wsa last seen walking down Marty Dr. toward Madrone Ave. A deputy drove out but could not locate the man.

Deputies got a call from someone who found a number of live ammunition rounds on the shoulder of the 7000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Adeputy went out and collected the rounds.

A resident in the 13000 block of Carmel Ave. reported hearing a gunshot, possibly near the Sonoma Valley Regional Park. A deputy went to do an extra patrol around the area.

May 1 2016
A resident of the 13000 block of Marty Dr. called to report getting a nummber of harassing text messages from a friend, and wanted to know how to make it stop.

May 5 2016
A caller said that there were relatives who were not allowed on a property on Treehaven who the caller feared were on their way. A deputy drove out but did not find anybody

May 8 2016
A resident of Cavedale Road was driving in the 2000 block at 7:18 p.m. when they saw a truck with three males, with one of them holding what looked to be a rifle. They were parked in an area known for partying. Deputies drove out, contacted the men, and it turned out they had an air rifle.

A suspicious male in his 30s was reported in the aea of Bennett Valley and Warm Springs Rds. A deputy drove out but could not locate anyone.

A man in the 100 block of Trinity Road reported receiving annoying and harassing phone calls.

May 13 2016
Deputies got a number of calls about a trespasser in the area of Sonoma Hwy. and Adobe Canyon Road. A man was reported walking around and looking into homes and cars. One of the callers said they talked to the man, who said he had gotten lost while driving around looking for a place to go 4-wheeling. The man said his vehicle had gotten stuck and was walking around looking for help. A deputy went out, contacted the 45-year old man, and arrested him for trespassing and a probation violation.

A caller from the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. said the night before she had seen a number of males hanging around her mailbox, probably individuals who were at a nearby party. The next morning the caller said she went to the box and found two pieces of opened mail on the ground. She also saw that a nearby mailbox had been left opened.

A purse and laptop were stolen from a vehicle parked outside the Arnold Dr. entrance of Sonoma Valley Regional Park.

A resident in the 1000 block of Hill Road called to report a neighbor's dog was on his property and acting aggressive. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A little after 6 p.m., deputies got a call about an intoxicated male trying to get into a parked vehicle and stumbling around. A deputy went out and handled the situation.

Deputies got a call around 11:30 p.m. regarding a male trespasser in a yard in the 15000 block of Burbank Dr. The caller's boyfriend yelled at the man who then ran away. A deputy drove out but could not locate anyone.

May 16 2016
Deputies got a number of calls between 9-10 p.m. about numerous gunshots being fired. A deputy went out to the area but could not find the source of the shots.

Someone stole an ATV from a vineyard site in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The vineyard manager had parked the ATV the day before, and when he returned, it was gone. A deputy contacted the brother-in-law who said he had been upset with the caller over a personal issue. The man was arrested for making threats with intent to harm.

A burglary occurred in the 11000 block of Maple Glen Road. When one of the residents returned home, it was observed that drawers were open, and that a number of items were missing, including jewelry and two revolvers. It is suspected that the perpetrator gained acccess to the house via the garage.

It was reported that a male subject had illegally entered a residence in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. A relative of the homeowner confronted the stranger who then left in a black Corvette. The relative checked inside and it appeared that nothing had been taken. Later that day deputies were on another call at a winery in Kenwood when a black Corvette was spotted. A deputy contacted the driver who said he was friends with the owners of the house in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr., and that he had an open invitation to go to the home whenever no one was there. The man with the black Corvette also said he had left his gold watch near the swimming pool. The deputy ontacted the Arnold Dr. homeowner who said he had no idea who the man was. The homeowner said he did not want to press any charges.

A little after 10 p.m., deputies got a call about a suspicious person who had walked into the St. Francis Winery tasting room after hours and asked to use the bathroom. The caller said the man seemed confused. A deputy drove out and talked to the man, who said he had gotten his black Corvette stuck right outside the St. Francis Winery property. The deputy helped the man call a tow truck.

There was a report from a woman in the 100 block of Greene St. that she was continuing to be being harassed by a male even though there was a protective order in place. Deputies went out to visit the man at another house in Kenwood. When a deputy attempted to talk to the subject, he tried to shut the door on a deputy. The man was eventually arrested for obstructing the deputy, delaying an investigation, and for violating a restraining order.

A deputy spotted two suspicious vehicles about 8:15 p.m. in the area of Sonoma Mountain and Warm Springs Road. Five men were in the vehicles. One of them was on probation for theft, and after a serch, a deputy discovered a baggie with a white substance, marijuana, and drug parephenalia. He was arrested.

A car was broken into on the Arnold Dr. side of Sonoma Valley Regional Park. The vehicle owner had parked and gone on a hike. A purse that was left in the car was stolen.

A motorist had pumped gas at Kenwood Fast Gas. When she swiped her credit card she noticed an additional piece attached to the swiping mechanism. She alerted the clerk who agreed that the piece was odd. The motorist said she cancelled her card to be safe. According to the sheriff's office, thieves will fit portable scanners over the card swipe unit and are thus able to obtain your credit card and/or PIN number. Crooks will usually install these scanners at night at stations that do not have any surveillance cameras.

Deputies got a call at 3:50 a.m. to report a possible prowler at a residence in the 1000 block of Dawn Hill Road. The female resident said she saw two subjects in front of her house and talking, and then she heard them in her kitchen. A deputy drove out but could not find anyone. The woman said she might have been mistaken. and that nosie from the television might have confused her.

A resident in the 900 block of Lawndale Road called at 8:30 a.m. to report hearing a female screaming and shrieking in terror, as if she was being hurt. The caller went to the front of the residence thought to be the source of the disturbance, and the screaming abruptly stopped. A deputy first tried to call that residence but there was no answer. The deputy then went to the residence but no one appeared to be home.

The caller said she found a Bic lighter in her yard which she expects was thrown from the problem property, and that there had been a large party there the weekend before. Two males and a female were reported yelling at each other in the street at 11 p.m. in the 9000 block of Los Guilicos Ave. A deputy went out and made contact with some of the parties. It truned out there was an argument over a cell phone.

A resident of the 1000 block of Trinity Road said she was expecting some prescription medecine in the mail The Post Office told her it had been delivered. The caller never received the medicine and fears it was stolen from her mailbox. Estimated loss: $400.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 900 block of Madrone Road. The caller said a neighor had approached her yelling that the world was going to end and it was the caller's fault. The caller thought the neighbor might be under the influence. A deputy drove out and contacted the neighbor, who the deputy determined was under the infleunce of somethng. The neighbor, a 28-year-old Glen Ellen said he had used drugs a few hours ago and wanted help with drug addiction. The man proceeded to show the deputy where he kept drugs in the apartment, which the deputy booked into evidence. The deputy located several medication forms for a variety of drugs, including hydrocodone. The man was arrested for possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

A deputy went out, saw number of cars in a vineyard along with an estimated 100 young people, who began to scatter at the sight of the deputies. The owner of the property was not on site, and was called by deputies. The deputies sent the remaining young people home.

A deputy went out to the area. The woman told the deputy where the man lived.

There was also a three-page, rambling letter accusing the resident of stealing film from the 1960s, and a military uniform belonging to the letter writer’s father.

The woman did find an unsecured window. She was too uncomfortable to keep searching the house, so she waited in her car for deputies to arrive. A trespasser with a white truck was reported in the 3000 block of Lawndale Road. A deputy went out and contacted a male who said he was just checking the mail of a nearby property. The deputy checked the man's ID and asked if he would consent to a search. The man refused. When the deputy reached for the man to pat him down, the man started to run away. Back-up was called and eventually the suspect called out from his hiding place in a culvert to alert deputies as to his location. Asked why he ran, the man replied he was scared he would be beaten up by the deputy. The 49-year-old man from Graton was arrested for trespassing and obstructing a police officer.

The driver said they had pulled over becuse they had almost been in a collssion. The deputy saw a glass pipe, and then searched the car, but found nothig else. The man was cited for possessing drug parephenelia and released.

Deputies got a call from a resident in the 900 block of Robertson Road regarding walking a dog on private property and trespassing. While on the line, the caller said she had lost sight of the woman. A deputy drove out but could not find anything.

A resident in the area of London Ranch and Williams Roads, called at 10 p.m. to report a suspicious vehicle with two people parked for a long period of time. The caller said that there have been recurring problems with people leaving beer bottles in the area. A deputy drove out and handled the situation.

At 6 p.m., a resident in the 13000 block of Carmel Ave. called to report hearing five gunshots within five minutes, maybe from the Yell Lane area. A deputy went out, and it turned out the sounds were from popping balloons, and not gunshots.

A caller from Madrone Road reported that she thought a relative had stolen $1,000 from her.

Around 11 p.m., deputies got a couple of calls about loud music at a wedding at a nearby property. A deputy went out and got the music turned down.

A man was reported passed out on the ground in the area of Yell and Carmel Lanes. An ambulance was called.

A resident in the 5000 block of O'Donnell Lane called at 12:45 a.m. to report a possible prowler. The resident had been sleeping and was awakened by her barking dog and the sound of someone trying to open a back screen door. A deputy went out but could not find anyone.

A caller living in the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported having ongoing issues with a landlord going into the caller's unit without permission. The caller was informed that this was a civil issue.

At 7 p.m., deputies got some calls about a woman walking in traffic and almost getting hit, apparently intoxicated. About the same time, deputies got a report from the same area about underage teens going door to door asking for shot glasses. Deputies went out and handled both situations.

A resident in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report that she had arrived home and found her house trashed and burgled. Upon arrival, a deputy cleared the house and found many items of furniture in disarray, as if someone was searching for something. The victim said that tens of thousands of dollars she was keeping in bags were missing.

Deputies got a call from the Glen Ellen Post office about a woman who was refusing to leave and refusing to pay for postage due on a package. A deputy drove out and handled the situation.

There were mulltiple calls about gunshots in Glen Ellen, possibly in the Carquinez and Horn Avenue areas. There was one report of aerial fireworks nearby. A deputy drove out but could not locate anything.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a dispute over a parking space in the Glen Ellen Village Market parking lot. One of the parties said they drove into the lot, saw a car taking up two spaces, said something to the car's owner, who then repsonded with a profanity. The other party said he had walked out of the market with flowers when he got into the argument about his parking. He said the party annoyed with the parking job then lunged at him while he was sitting in the vehicle, grabbed the flowers on the seat, hit the driver twice with the flowers, and then tried to kick the driver with a roudhouse kick. The deputy handled the situation.

There were multiple phone calls after 10 p.m. regarding loud amplified music somewhere in downtown Glen Ellen. A deputy drove out and eventually found the source of the music which was coming from a wedding party. The partiers turned the music down.

Deputies got a call about a man acting eratically in the 900 block of Madrone. The man had taken a knife and slashed the tires of two vehicles. A deputy went out and found the man hiding in the bushes. The man became uncooperative and another unit had to be called to help restrain him. The man was arrested and taken to jail.

Gunshots were heard in the area of Yell Lane and Carmel Ave. A deputy drove out but could not find whre they were coming from.

Someone stole a $200 check from a mailbox in the 2000 block of Nelligan Road and cashed it.

A resident of Hill Road called to complain that a neighbor frequently puts his garbage cans in front of the caller's house. The resident asked the neighbor to move the garbage bin, and as he was doing so, he hit the caller with the can, and then apologized. The caller also said the neighbor had threatened to cut down one of the caller's trees with a chain saw.

A resident of the 3000 block of Cavedale Road reported that somone had illegally tried to us the resident's credit card to buy $800 in event tickets.

A motorist in the area of Greene St. and Sonoma Hwy. called to report that a man driving a truck had been tailgating, sped around the motorist to get in front, and then slammed on the brakes. The truck then followed the motorist to Kenwood Fast Gas, where the man got out of the truck, yelled at the motorist, and drove off.

A number of calls came in about a male and a female seemingly under the influence bothering patrons at a number of businesses in the 8000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A deputy drove out but the couple had already left the area.

A contractor working at Jack London Village reported that he had locked and parked his truck around 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot. When he returned after only eight minutes, he saw a window open, and someone had stoled thousands of dollars in tools.

A prowler was reported in the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A resident called to report that a man, woman, and dog were outside her house, and the man was swearing at the resident. The resident told the dispatcher that she had a taser and handgun in the house, and the man and woman were now walking up the street. A deputy arrived and contacted the male who said the resident always shines a flashlight when he and his daughter are walking their dog, and that he had gotten upset.

A resident of the 1000 block of Chauvet Road reported that tools were taken from his truck.

A man called from the 1000 block of London Ranch Road about 10 p.m. to report that while he was trimming weeds, a person came up to him and brandished a gun and told him to leave. By the time Deputies arrived, the reporting party was gone and none of the six people present, including the property owner, knew anything about the alleged incident. The owner said he did not own a weapon and had no idea of what was going on.

A resident in the area of the 13000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported hearing 5-6 gunshots.

Deputies investigating a 5:45 p.m. report of someone spray painting a suspicious vehicle in the 9000 block of Clyde Ave. found a couple spray painting a primer colored gray and red Honda Civic bearing license plates registered to a different car currently impounded in Vacaville. A man, woman and dog who were associated with a white vehicle cruising the area were detained, questioned and admitted the Honda was stolen from Santa Rosa. No further details were available.

November 2 2016
A resident in the area of Bennett Valley Rd. and Bennett Valley Lane reported a suspicious vehicle, a U-Haul truck that had been parked for two days. A deputy went out and determined the ruck was parked on a private driveway. A day later, the resident called back to say the truck was still there and wanted deputies to tag the vehcle. A deputy checked things out further and found out that someone local had rented the truck, and that there was not a problem.

A large cardboard box full of some kind of insulation was reported in a pullout in the area of Bennett Valley Road and Bennett Valley Lane.

When the morning employee showed up at the Kenwood gas station about 6:30 a.m., she found the front door was open, but didn't see broken glass or anything. She called from outside and waited for Deputies. Deputies checked building, and found it was clear. No alarm went off, nothing was taken, and no formal written report was made.

Deputies got a call near midnight from someone who said they had been standing in the area near the Post Office in the 13000 block of Arnold Dr. when a man hit him with a baseball bat. The caller told the dispatcher he knew the suspect, and said the suspect was homeless and appeared to be intoxicated. The victim said he was hit in the arm seven times wih a baseball bat on the left arm. Deputies went out and looked for the suspect. Nothing further.

A resident of the 1000 block of Cavedale Road called to report seeing a helicopter and two people on the ground on his large property. A deputy went out and determined the activity was not happening on the caller's property.

A little after 11 p.m., a resident in the area of Garric Ave. called to report excessive noise coming from a nearby vacation rental. The caller said they had tried to contact the owner of the rental, but had not gotten any response.

An employee up at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park called to report a possible altercation between a man and a woman. The employee had heard a loud argument with car doors slamming. A deputy drove out and contacted a 28-year old man. The man turned out to be on probation, and he was subject to search. The deputy discovered drug paraphenalia and a very small amount of drugs.

A Vintage Lane resident called to report that cameras had picked up a suspicious vehicle with one person outside a fenced area on the other side of the property on Henno Road. A deputy went out, but no further information.

Someone was shooting off guns in the area of the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. A deputy went out to the site, and found that someone was trapshooting.

A resident in the 2000 block of Warm Springs Road reported that his truck was vandalized, possibly a burglary attempt. The windshield was cracked and a door handle broken. Estimated loss: $1,000.

Deputies got a call about the flying of small helicopters trespassing on private property at Campagna Lane and Sonoma Hwy. The caller said the helicopters left when he approached, but knew the operator's name and phone number.

A motorist parked her car in the Sonoma Valley Regional Park parking lot. When she came back, the front side window was broken but nothing was taken.

At 10:30 p.m., deputies got a call from someone at Jack London Village regarding a couple having intercourse in a Chevy in the parking lot. A deputy drove out and told the couple to move along.

A woman parked in the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. outside the entrance to Sonoma Valley Regional Park. When she returned at 12:20 p.m., she found her rear window smashed and her purse stolen.

A resident in the 15000 block of Marty Dr. called to complain about loud music and partying that had been going on for six hours at a nearby vacation rental. A deputy drove out and got the music turned down.

Around midnight, deputies got a call about a buck injured by a car. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

A resident of the 1100 block of Chauvet Road called to report that a relative had stolen her mother's checkbook. Deputies eventually determined this was a civil matter.

The California Highway Patrol broadcast a "Be on the Lookout" call at 1:30 a.m. for a white Chevy truck that had been seen driving eratically and crossing over double yellow lines in the area of Marty Dr. and Madrone Road.

A battery was reported in the 11000 block of Henno Road at 9:30 p.m. The caller said his son had been physically assaulted by a relative that was living on the property. A deputy drove out, but the son did not want to press any charges.

A woman parked in the 200 block of Randolph Ave around 11 a.m. and left the vehicle unlocked. When she returned, her purse and cell phone were missing.

Deputies got a call at 4 a.m. regarding a dog that had been hit by a car in the 3000 block of Warm Springs Road. The matter was referred to Animal Control.

Deputies got a call a little after midnight about an intruder in the 2000 block of Adobe Canyon Road. A husband and wife had returned home from a social event and saw the front door was open. Upon entering, a male hit the husband on the head with a flashlight, knocking him to the ground. the assailant ran off. The wife said it appeared that nothing was taken form the home. The case is still under investigation.

Deputies got a call from a Wolf Run resident about a neighbor's two rottweilers running free without supervision and getting into other people's' properties. The matter was referred to Animal Control

A woman called in a road rage incident the day before. While biking with a group in the area of Chauvet Road and London Ranch Road, a truck passed them and pulled partially into a driveway, blocking the bikers and forcing them to go out into the road. As they made their way past the truck, some of the bikers heard the driver say, "I'm just going to kill all of you." The caller wanted an investigation into the incident.

A resident of Cecelia Drive. reported hearing a loud explosion from a neighbor's home. The resident went and talked to the neighbor, who said he was making bacon. Later on the resident noticed that the neighbor's front window had been blown out. A deputy went out to the site, but no one answered the door and the call was cleared. Later on, deputies got another call regarding the house, with the caller saying they believed drugs were being manufactured at the house. The investigation was turned over to the sheriff's narcotics division.

A resient of the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported being a victim of identity theft. The caller said he had received a package that he did not order. Upon investigation, the caller said that somone had illegally opened up a credit card in his name.

Deputies got a call from a vineyard manager about a physical altercation between two workers in a vineyard in the 11000 block of Sonoma Hwy. Apparently the two men got into an argument after one of them confronted the other about doing a poor job tying vines. A fight ensued, with one of the men eventually hitting the other with the battery end of a cordless drill. A deputy went out to speak with the parties, and ended up arresting a 38-year-old man for assault.

December 26 2016
A resident of the 6000 block of Enterprise Road went out to his barn in the morning and discovered that someone had pried the door open. A generator and tool box were stolen. Estimated loss: $1600.

December 28 2016
A caller from the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. reported being a victim of fraud. A Social Security number had been illegally used to file fradulent tax returns. The victim said the IRS had placed a hold on his bank accounts, saying that the victim owed back taxes. The victim had provided the IRS with his real tax returns, and they indeed were not the same ones the IRS had received.

December 31 2016
At 9 p.m., an employee of an inn in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. called to report that a woman was in the lobby and refusing to leave the premises. She was not a hotel guest and she had no vehicle. The woman said that a rapper had told her to go the inn, but the person she named was not staying there. A deputy went out and gave the woman a ride to Santa Rosa.
