Public hearing set for refined, expanded vegetation management rules
As noted in our May 1 story, Sonoma County is refining the rules for keeping homes as fire safe as possible with vegetation management rules, important because of an increasingly dangerous fire season developing this year from meager rainfall and early high temperatures.
The proposed new rules eliminate parcel size as a factor for inspections and set more specific height and distance numbers for the required vegetation removal.
The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on June 9, at 2:30 p.m. While the hearing will likely be virtual, please check online to make sure.
