Glen Ellen bank robbed

At 5:24 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, the Westamerica Bank branch in Glen Ellen, off of Arnold Dr., was held up at gunpoint.

Bank employees reported to deputies that the lone suspect entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect then took the money, placed it in a blue backpack, and fled on foot northbound on Arnold Dr.

A description of the suspect was given and the surrounding area was immediately searched by several deputies, but the suspect could not be located. A sheriff’s helicopter was also dispatched to aid the search.

Deputies retrieved and reviewed the surveillance video from Westamerica Bank and secured digital photographs of the suspect inside during this incident. The suspect is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, mid- to late-20s, with reddish or blonde hair. The suspect was wearing a light blue long sleeve pullover sweatshirt, khaki colored cargo pants, and dark tennis shoes with white soles. The suspect also was wearing black sunglasses and a black on the outside, red or orange on the inside ski mask on his head.
