Free kids soccer clinic at Larson Park

The Valley of the Moon Soccer Club will hold a free soccer clinic and registration event for children ages 5 to 16 on March 15 at Larson Park in Boyes Hot Springs.

Kids can come and practice at the clinic between 10 a.m. and noon. Registration for spring and summer soccer teams will take place all day. Larson Park is located on DeChene Ave. in Boyes Hot Springs.

Registration is open to boys for competitive teams, and boys and girls for recreational teams. Registration for officials – coaches, referees, and field coordinators – will also take place.

Also on the day’s schedule at 12:30 p.m., the Valley of the Moon Soccer Club will honor last year’s teams for their successful winning record in 2013.

Soccer season starts in mid-May and runs through the end of July.

Registration for the soccer season requires registrant’s birth certificate and a registration fee of $75. For more information call the Valley of the Moon Soccer Club at 721-9533.

Valley of the Moon Soccer Club was created in 2009 to provide outdoor activities and promote health for children. The soccer program is sponsored by Nuestra Voz of Sonoma, a local nonprofit in the Sonoma Valley.

On the same day, Nuestra Voz is also sponsoring an official grand opening of the Larson Park Community Food Garden, so the whole family is invited to enjoy the day at Larson Park to check out the raised garden beds, a number of which are now available.
