Sue Shelbourne-Crockett

Jan. 7, 1944 - Aug. 21, 2015

Sue Shelbourne-Crockett, loving wife and mother, passed away on Aug. 21, 2015, in Glen Ellen. She is survived by her husband David Crockett, mother Marjorie Chorlton, brother Jim Chorlton, three children – Scott, Kristen and Susanne Shelbourne, and one grandchild.

Sue grew up in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Oregon State University. She was very active as an alumna and you would find her dressed in orange and black supporting her “Mighty Beavers” when OSU came to the Bay Area.

Her love of travel and adventure led her to become a flight attendant for United Airlines where she explored the world. For work and for fun she loved traveling to new destinations near and far.

Sue was the most gracious hostess and welcomed everyone with open arms. The minute you walked in her door, she made sure you were taken care of and most of all well fed! Everyone knew that if you were going over to Sue’s house, to come hungry, and yet she would still be concerned “you weren’t eating enough.”

She lived in Glen Ellen with her husband for the past 20 years and enjoyed everything about the Wine Country. She was an active member in the Kenwood Community Church and became good friends with many of the local grape growers and wineries around the Sonoma area. One of the most beautiful places to enjoy a glass of wine was on Sue’s front porch!

Outgoing, openhearted, and unbelievably generous, Sue made friends easily and made time for everyone. Her circle extended far and wide, across continents and throughout her lifetime. She touched the lives of so many people and was loved by everyone that had the pleasure to know her.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. in the park across from the Kenwood Community Church. 9637 Channing Row, Kenwood.
