Saturday May 4th - 4:00pmDeerfield Ranch Winery hosts its 14th Annual Checkerbloom Gala on Saturday, May 4, 4-8 p.m. Proceeds benefit the restoration of the Kenwood Wetlands, a wildlife habitat and home of the endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom. The theme this year is “On the Green.”
The garden party will include a pétanque tournament, vault tasting with the winemaker, spa treatments by the pool, barbecue, and a silent auction.
The Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom Society, a nonprofit organization founded by PJ Rex, owner of the Deerfield Ranch Winery, manages the restoration and maintenance of the Kenwood Wetlands and protection of the endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom. To permanently protect this wildlife habitat, Deerfield Ranch Winery granted a permanent conservation easement to the County of Sonoma. “This rare wetland is a jewel in the heart of the wine country. Artists come to paint it, photographers come to shoot it, and bird and animal lovers come to enjoy it,” said Rex.
