Solar viewing & Star Party

In the daytime, the Robert Ferguson Observatory will host public solar viewing, where you can safely observe and listen to earth’s favorite star, the sun. Admission is free. Then, from 8 p.m. to midnight, come for the Public Star Party. The observatory’s three main telescopes, plus additional telescopes, are open for viewing. Ongoing presentations on astronomical topics are given in the classroom. Friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions. Admission is $5 per adult 18 and older; those under 18 are free. There is a $10 per car state park admission fee. For more information, go to www.rfo.org.
