Swensen and Teicholz

Thursday February 13th - 1:30pmMusic at Oakmont kicks off the New Year with the return of Ian Swensen and Marc Teicholz, in their third appearance in this series. The popular violin and guitar duo will present a selection of works by Bela Bartók, Sérgio Assad, Robert Beaser, and Astor Piazzolla on Feb. 13 at 1:30 p.m. in Berger Center.
Violinist Swensen maintains an active schedule as soloist and chamber musician, appearing at such venues as Music@Menlo, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society. He is one of the few musicians to be awarded the Walter W. Naumburg International Competition’s top prize for both solo violin and chamber music. Teicholz, who with Swensen serves on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, was awarded first prize at the 1989 International Guitar Foundation of America Competition.
