Tuesday May 14th 2019 - to

The May 14 SIR 92 meeting features an informative presentation on California wetlands and the efforts to develop and support water fowl habitats. Speaker Yancey Knowles is the former chairperson of the California Waterfowl Association, has written a definitive guide to duck clubs in California, and is currently working on the establishment of a California Wetlands Museum designed to teach the importance of wetlands.

Knowles is a retired educator who was an outstanding teacher in the Rincon Valley School District and retired as superintendent of the Bellevue School District in Santa Rosa.

The meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Berger Center.

Branch 92 will host a number of events in the coming months including a trip to the USS Hornet, a monthly golf tournament, the traditional Ladies Day event in June featuring the piano skills of Deborah Knapp, a picnic at West Recreation Center with bocce, an outing to the Sonoma Stompers and a day at the races. Retired men are welcome to the club by contacting John Barrett, membership chair, at 537-6551.
