New exhibit by Kenwood artistThe Valley, a one-man exhibition of new paintings by Kenwood artist Fred R. Parker, will take place at the Alley Gallery in Sonoma, Sept. 1-30.
During the entire run of the show Parker will be present and working at his easel on new paintings.
The exhibition celebrates the visual beauty of Sonoma Valley, presenting several new paintings created in the last few months, along with older works created since 1986.
In 1994 Parker was selected as Sonoma's Treasure Artist of the Year. He currently lives in Kenwood where he has a gallery/studio and is the resident artist at Deerfield Ranch Winery.
The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, Aug. 31, from 4-8 p.m.
The Alley Gallery is part of the La Haye Art Center located at 148 East Napa St. in Sonoma, with the gallery entrance in the alley adjacent to parking behind the Sebastiani Theatre. A portion of all gallery sales will be donated to support the Art Encounters program administered by Parker for the Kenwood Elementary School.
