Kenwood Community Church calls new pastor
After a year-long search, the congregation of Kenwood Community Church (United Church of Christ) has called a new pastor. The Rev. Dr. Larry Hallett begins his ministry here on May 1. He is a graduate of Indiana University, Claremont School of Theology, and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree at San Francisco School of Theology. Beginning in 1988 he served Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregations in Southern California, and has served as hospice chaplain and bereavement coordinator from 2005 to the present. He has moved from the Los Angeles area to serve the local church.
He follows a long pastorate of the Rev. Jim Fish at Kenwood Community Church, and a one-year interim pastorate by the Rev. Charles Ensley during the search period this past year.
Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m. at the Channing Row church, facing Kenwood Plaza Park.
