Grants for those in fire impacted communities

A new partnership between Rebuild NorthBay Foundation and United Way of the Wine Country recently unveiled the RiseUp Community Impact Grants program, which will fund up to $400,000 in grants to local organizations in support of the long-term rebuilding of the region as a more sustainable and resilient community.

Fire survivors and/or organizations serving the fire affected communities of Napa, Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino counties, are encouraged to apply for grants to fill identified gaps in rebuilding, wildfire prevention and preparedness, and long-term resilience.

Types of grants include neighborhood impact, project support and coordination, mini-grants ($5,000 and under), sponsorship (event support), and capital gifts: improving infrastructure in fire affected areas, disaster preparedness, research, and impact. Community impact grants allow for unmet needs and gaps to be filled in areas often overlooked. In post-disaster areas, there is a need to provide funds for community groups to function and provide support. Even a small grant can make a meaningful impact, unburdening fire survivors and volunteers with out-of-pocket administrative expenses (copying, meeting spaces, fees, etc.).

Grants will be limited to no more than two consecutive years per award. Grantees must provide a report within a set period of time post-funding. Apply for a grant at rebuildnorthbay.org/impact/community-grants/.
