New council applications sought

People interested in serving on the recently established North Valley Municipal Advisory Council (NVMAC) are invited to apply by Oct. 24, the deadline for submissions.

The new council will include seven regular members and two alternates, drawn from Kenwood, Glen Ellen and Eldridge, selected to represent different geographical regions and sectors wherever possible. Sectors under consideration include businesses or nonprofits, the Sonoma Valley Citizen’s Advisory Commission (SVCAC), families or schools, and at-large representatives from Kenwood, Glen Ellen and Eldridge.

The NVMAC will provide a forum for direct communication between local residents and businesses in the North Valley area and the County through First District Supervisor Gorin.

“The North Valley MAC will be a voice for these communities around issues like community preparedness, transit, bike and pedestrian concerns, public projects and even big-picture issues like homelessness and housing,” First District Supervisor Susan Gorin said. “Those appointed will work with the community to advise myself and the county as to what types of solutions could work here. Passionate, practical people with the ability to see projects through are encouraged to submit an application.”

For more information, contact Gorin’s office at 565-2241 or visit the North Valley MAC website at sonomacounty.ca.gov/North-Valley-Municipal-Advisory-Council/.

An online application link is available at sonomacounty.ca.gov/North- Valley-Municipal-Advisory-Council/. The website has additional information such as the Bylaws and Boundary Map.
