Ag + Open Space invites public review for Vital Lands Initiative
The Sonoma County Agriculture Preservation and Open Space District (Sonoma Ag + Open Space) has released its latest revised draft Vital Lands Initiative for public review. The Vital Lands Initiative is a comprehensive plan that will guide its works for the next 10 years. Building on nearly 30 years of successful land conservation work, the initiative will outline strategies for protecting the county’s open space lands to preserve agriculture, natural resources, recreation, scenic vistas, greenbelt areas, and urban open space, using the best available science, data and technical information by outlining clear strategies for conserving land.

Public comments on the draft are due by Monday, Dec. 16, and can be submitted using the online form or by emailing email@example.com.
Interested individuals may also provide comments in person at a public workshop held by Sonoma Ag + Open Space Board of Directors on Tuesday, Dec.17, in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 575 Administration Dr., Santa Rosa.
