Wind damage lingers, blocks lane

But the power stayed on ...

High weekend winds blew down a cable pole in the 500 block of Adobe Canyon Road late Sunday or early Monday (Feb. 8-9), completely blocking the road, though leaving power intact. Kenwood Fire Department crew members cleared one lane, put up a few red cones, and called the county and Comcast to follow up. While four Comcast/Xfinity utility trucks showed up Monday morning, the crews were unable to remove the remaining blockage since they are not allowed to carry chain saws, according to the employees pictured above, talking with neighbor John Meserve. As of Wednesday, Feb. 12, the road was still blocked with no further action from either the county or Comcast. Other residents have complained, but so far, nothing. The blockage is just beyond the first, tight curve into the canyon proper, with traffic often entering it faster than conditions warrant, especially now.
