Winter hike in the woods at Jack London
Get outdoors on Sunday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m.-noon, and experience the wonders of nature in winter, exploring the woods and openings of Jack London State Historic Park.
Retired biologist Kate Symonds will lead you on a discovery hike where you tune your senses to the natural world, and explore answers to questions that nature evokes, while cultivating a greater sense of wonder about nature around you. Pay special attention to the diversity of plant life and also look for signs of wildlife. Walks are generally slow-paced and range from 1.5 to 4 miles on gently to moderately undulating terrain. Be prepared for inclement weather as walks go rain or shine. Families welcome.
Meet Symonds in the museum parking lot on the left as you enter the park. Admission is free, but parking fee applies. Limited to 10 participants. Register online at www.jacklondonpark.com.
