Search ongoing in death of cyclist
State and local law enforcement are still looking for a hit and run driver who struck and killed a cyclist on Sonoma Highway near Madrone Road the evening of June 5.
Adrian Albert of Kensington, 35, was riding his bike eastbound on Sonoma Highway around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck from behind and killed by someone driving a Dodge Dakota truck. The truck sped off, and had damage to the front end of the vehicle.
A few days later, California Highway Patrol investigators got a call about a similar truck from someone living in a neighborhood east of Boyes Hot Springs known as “the maze.” CHP Officer Marc Renspurger said the truck had damage consistent with the one that killed Albert.
Renspurger said the truck had not been registered for a few years. The last known owner was contacted, who said the truck had been sold some time ago, but the paperwork indicating a sale to another party was never completed and filed with DMV.
CHP is asking anyone with information to call 707-253-4906, or 800-835-5247.
