Fire preparedness virtual town hall meeting July 10

In collaboration with the county’s Department of Emergency Management, Supervisor Susan Gorin is planning a Virtual Town Hall on fire and preparedness issues. The Town Hall will take place Friday, July 10, at 5:30 p.m. The Virtual Town Hall will take place via Zoom and be simultaneously broadcast on Facebook Live. It will also feature Spanish language simulcast and ASL interpretation. Email Arielle.Kubu-Jones@sonoma-county.org for the Zoom link.
Click here for specific ways to join.

Panelists are set to include Supervisor Gorin; a local fire chief; Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase; Alert and Warning program staff; staff from Fire and Emergency Services/Permit Sonoma knowledgeable about the County’s Vegetation Management program; and a Fire Safe Council representative. There will be panelist introductions followed by Q&A. Topics to be covered are based on the questions received, but panelists will be available to speak to:

  • Alert and Warning issues
  • Fire readiness in the age of COVID-19
  • Vegetation Management
  • Fire safe councils
  • Other topics related to emergency preparedness
Please submit any questions you or your neighborhood have to Arielle.Kubu-Jones@sonoma-county.org by Monday, July 6, the earlier the better. This will give staff time to sort through them and find duplicates and themes. Depending on the amount of questions, they may not be able to get to all of them, but can answer them after the fact. The Town Hall meeting will also be taking questions from Facebook Live.

After the Town Hall, the video will be archived on Supervisor Susan Gorin’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/susangorin1st).
