School board nominations open
Anyone interested in running for the board of trustees of the Kenwood School District can take out nomination papers beginning July 13, with the deadline for filing being Aug. 7.
There are two seats on the five-member board that will be on the ballot Nov. 3 if those seats are contested. If the incumbents do not file the required paperwork by Aug. 7, then anyone else interested has an extended period to file, until Aug. 12.
Board members serve a four-year term, beginning in December, 2020 and serving through November 2024. In order to serve as a trustee, a person must be at least 18 years old and reside within the district boundaries of Kenwood School. The responsibilities of a Board member include working with the Superintendent, fiscal oversight of the district budget, and monitoring district policies.
