School board slots uncontested
The Kenwood School District will not have to hold an election for seats on the Board of Trustees, as two people filed for the two spots available.
Long-time board member Pat Alexander will remain on the five-person board, and will be joined by newcomer Javier Tenorio, a Kenwood School parent.
Incumbent Robin Stoecker decided not to run again.
Tenorio will officially take office on Dec. 11.
Board members serve four-year terms beginning in December, serving through November 2024.
The responsibilities of a board member include working with the superintendent, fiscal oversight of the district budget, and monitoring district policies.
Not having to hold an election saves the district about $12,000, according to Kenwood School Superintendent/Principal Bob Bales.
