Organic Beekeeping 101 Workshop
Join beekeeper Randy Sue Collins for a workshop on organic beekeeping on Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants will be introduced to natural beekeeping methods. Collins explains, “I’d like the participants to walk away with a new understanding of honeybees and hopefully the confidence to start their own hives.” Participants will get to see beekeeping equipment, learn from beautiful photos, and will have a chance to take part in discussion with Collins regarding her methods.
Collins is an avid beekeeper and has just completed an instructional video on organic beekeeping. She is the president of Sonoma County Beekeeper’s Association, the inventor of the patent-pending Hex Hive, and creates and sells bee products including beeswax candles, soaps and lotions. Her websites are www.thanknature.com and www.organicbeekeeping101.com.
The workshop fee is $10 for members of the Sonoma Ecology Center, $15 for non-members. Proceeds benefit the Sonoma Garden Park, an educational community farm, garden, and park, managed by the Sonoma Ecology Center and located at 19996 Seventh St. East, between MacArthur and Denmark Streets in Sonoma.
For more information, or to register for the workshop, contact Sandi Funke at 996-0712, ext. 110, or email email@example.com. Reservations are required by Friday, March 11.
