The story behind Jack Londonís cottage garden





Cottage gardener Jenny Randall will unravel the layers of garden history surrounding Jack and Charmian Londonís cottage garden. On Saturday May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, Randall will present ďJackís Garden, The Story Behind the Cottage Garden,Ē a presentation of historical photographs and an intimate garden tour. Learn about turn-of-the-century plants, what the garden was like when Jack and Charmian lived in the cottage, what happened after Jack died, and how Jenny maintains a sense of place that still imbues the garden today. This special event includes a picnic lunch under the oaks.

Admission is $30 per person including lunch, and can be arranged online at www.jacklondonpark.com or by calling 938-5216. Additional Parking fee is $10 per car and is paid at kiosk upon entering.
