Pianist Ang Li performs in Oakmont
The Oakmont Concert Series presents acclaimed virtuoso pianist Ang Li, on Thursday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m. in Berger Center. Oakmont Concert Series’ newest corporate sponsor, Oakmont Gardens, will host a reception just across the street immediately following the performance. Concert attendees are invited to meet the artist and enjoy refreshments.
The youth, talent, personality and audience appeal of Ang Li have made her one of the world’s top rising classical piano stars. Her first public performance was at Beijing Concert Hall, at age six. Seven years later she made her orchestral debut with The Little Orchestra Society of New York, at Avery Fisher Hall.
In 2007 Ang Li appeared at the China National Center for the Performing Arts as a last-minute replacement soloist in the Ravel Piano Concerto in G Major. She performed the following year at the same venue, with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. She has soloed with the Montreal and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, among others.
Ang Li’s delightfully varied program will include works by Mozart, Schumann, Debussy, Liadov, Granados, and Chopin. This concert is open to all Oakmont residents and their invited guests.
