Former SF Giant speaks to SIR Branch 92
The speaker for the Tuesday, May 12, SIR Branch # 92 luncheon will be Noah Lowry, a former starting left-handed pitcher for the San Francisco Giants.
Lowry played for the Giants between 2003 and 2007. He won a career-high 14 games for the team in 2007 and holds the teamís record of winning seven straight games. He was known for his devastating change up and brutal speed-ball pitches and was a staple for the Giants.
Lowry will talk about his professional baseball career, experiences and lessons learned. After living for years in and near San Francisco, the former Giant settled in Santa Rosa after falling in love with it during frequent visits with his wife, Andrea Ryan and his two girls. His major-league baseball career was curtailed in 2007 due to injuries and surgeries. Lowry made a new start and is co-owner of Santa Rosa Ski & Sport. He is an outdoor and sports enthusiast and San Francisco Giants fan.
SIR Branch #92 meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Berger Center, 6637 Oakmont Drive. Social hour starts at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon, catered by Caf Europe. Any Oakmont man interested in attending this presentation and/or membership should contact George Keller at 539-7618.
