Bouverie hosting Art of Eating
Audubon Canyon Ranch (ACR), a North Bay leader in conservation science, habitat protection and restoration and nature education, announced today the 3rd Annual Art of Eating food, wine and brews benefit will take place on June 2, 2013 in Glen Ellen.
This year’s Art of Eating event will feature an exhibition of M.F.K. Fisher first edition books and rare examples of Fisher’s original magazine articles. The theme of the exhibit, curated by noted Fisher collector Randall Tarpey-Schwed, is “The Perfect Dinner Party”. Mr. Tarpey-Schwed is an expert on the writing of M.F.K. Fisher and is the editor of M.F.K. Fisher: An Annotated Bibliography.
The event’s theme, Food, Wines and Brews from the San Francisco Foodshed, will feature food and beverage pairings, and dessert, along with a live-auction and silent auction, all in the beautiful, rustic chic setting of Bouverie Preserve. The event is inspired by the life of M.F.K. Fisher, whose book, The Art of Eating, changed the way we think about eating and drinking in America. M.F.K, a close friend of David Bouverie, spent the last two decades of her life living at the Bouverie Preserve, writing about food and hosting friends such as Julia Child, Alice Waters, John Ash, Chuck Williams and James Beard.
This year’s Mistress of Ceremonies will be chef, writer and restaurateur Patricia Unterman of Hayes Street Grill.
Participants to date include:
Chefs: Executive Chef Matt Greco of The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards; Chef Jamie Lloyd, Golden Gate Meats; Chef Isa Jacoby, Private Chef, The Oyster Girls.
Winery & Breweries: Wente Vineyards, Lagunitas Beer, Gloria Ferrer, Beltane Ranch Winery, David Noyes Winery.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the education programs of ACR, which annually provide over 6,000 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to experience nature-based educational experiences at no cost to the schools.
Ticket cost is $150. Private tables of 12 available. The event will be held rain or shine.
