Celebrate conifers at Quarryhill
Quarryhill Botanical Garden in Glen Ellen, one of the world’s pre-eminent Asian botanical gardens, became the first American Conifer Society Reference Garden in California in 2013, so it seems only fitting that it will celebrate Conifer Day at Quarryhill on Saturday, July 27. Master Gardener Sara Malone will give a presentation, beginning at 10:30 a.m., during which attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for memberships for the American Conifer Society and Quarryhill at a discounted rate, and receive a free rare plant. After the presentation, visitors can roam the garden to explore all 25 acres of wild-origin plants and flowers. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
Malone has served as a judge for the San Francisco Botanical Garden at the 2013 San Francisco Flower and Garden Show, and her garden has been featured in Fine Gardening and Garden Design magazines. She was recently interviewed on GardenWeb’s “Garden Diaries.”
Quarryhill Botanical Garden is located at 12841 Sonoma Hwy. For more information on this event or others, go to www.quarryhillbg.org, or to reserve your spot, call 996-3166.
