Grass roots activism at the Oakmont Dem club
The grass roots fervor which led to last year’s victory for the Obama presidency is being carried on by a new effort called OFA (Organizing for Action). Sonoma County Coordinator Linda Hemenway will present an introduction to the OFA’s local activities, a power point and short film from its recent leadership conference and information on Rep. Mike Thompson’s work on gun legislation.
Oakmonters will receive specific information on activities they can join – petition drives, phone squads and rallies on behalf of gun regulation, immigration reform, and implementing the Affordable Health Care act.
The Oakmont Democratic Club meets on July 10 at 7 p.m. at the East Recreation Center in Oakmont. All Oakmont residents and their guests are invited.
