Glen Ellen village history goes online
Work is now complete on a gallery of historic photographs in the corridor of the main building at Jack London Village. A newly designed self-tour of several historical artifacts is also on display.
What makes this gallery unique are the small narrative plaques that have been installed along with QR codes. QR codes can be scanned by any smart phone with a QR reader (an app that can be downloaded for free) and will allow for a more detailed audiovisual presentation from the Internet.
Additional plans include placing QR codes at other significant locations throughout Glen Ellen. The project was funded by a grant from the Sonoma County Landmarks Commission.
