Senior nutrition at SIRs meeting
The speaker for the Feb. 26 SIR Branch #53 luncheon will be Laura Colgate, the director of Senior Nutrition Services for the Sonoma Council on Aging. Her subject will be “Senior Nutrition Programs,” an apt topic for a senior group that eats.
Colgate was born and raised in Sonoma County, and worked at Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies for 26 years as a project manager and new product introduction planner. She is president of the Valley of the Moon Children’s Foundation, Sonoma County’s only emergency shelter for abandoned, abused, and neglected children. She is also a member of the steering committee for VOICES, a collaborative resource center for former foster, transitional and at-risk youth.
Please note: For February only, the luncheon will be at the Berger Center, 6637 Oakmont Dr., since the East Recreation Center is undergoing some construction. Also, social hour will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at 12:30 p.m., catered by Caf Europe. For those involved, the regular board meeting will follow at 2:15 p.m.
SIR Branch #53 meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Any Oakmont men interested in attending this presentation and/or membership should contact Vic Grail at 539-9574 or Dave McCuan at 539-3028.
