Kenwood July 4 Parade seeks WWII vets
If you are a WWII veteran, let the community honor you for your service to our country by participating in the Kenwood Fourth of July Parade.
The Parade Committee would like to get as many veterans together as possible, so that the community can honor you for keeping our country free and independent. Itís a very short parade, lasting about 30 minutes, and transportation during the parade can be provided if you do not wish to walk around the Kenwood community park. There will be activities in the park following the parade, and it would be an ideal time to share your experiences, medals and pictures in a booth under a shade tree.
For further information contact Alec Peters at the Kenwood Press, 833-5155, or John Rector at 888-3993.
In other parade news, nominations to be this yearís grand marshal(s) are now being taken. If you have a person, group, or business you think would be worthy of being grand marshal, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include a paragraph or two about who you are nominating.
Parade applications are now available to download at www.kenwoodparade.com, or pick one up at the Kenwood Press office. There is no cost to be in the parade. Just come up with a great idea (marchers, bikers, floats, old cars, zeppelins), and apply a patriotic theme. All ages are welcome to participate.
