Spring piano concert

The Jack London Piano Club celebrates spring with a “Rites of Spring”-themed piano recital to benefit Jack London State Historic Park on May 4.

Guest vocalist will be Laura Benward, an accomplished musician who has performed widely, locally and on tour in musicals, light opera and folk programs. She is a member of the Vintage Singers trio whose repertoire includes many folk classics. Pianists will include Jud Goodrich, Deborah Knapp, Rubina Hovhanne, Larisa Migachyov, Zinaida Milyavsky, Esfir Ross, and Jim Wittes. Since 2011 the Piano Club has presented quarterly concerts, raising over $7,000 to benefit operations at the Park.

The concert, at the House of Happy Walls Museum at Jack London State Park, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets (which include parking) are $20 and are available in advance at the museum store, online at www.jacklondonpark.com, or by calling 938-5216. Limited seating available. Performance space can be reached by stairway only; for more information about access, please call 938-5216. Jack London State Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen.
