SVCAC will review Kenwood tasting room, local fire districts
The Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission (SVCAC), a panel that reviews development proposals and planning issues in Sonoma Valley, will meet on Wednesday, May 28, 6:30 p.m. in the community room of the Sonoma Police Department, 177 First Street West, Sonoma.
On the agenda is a review of a use permit request for a tasting room in the Kenwood shopping center at 8910 Sonoma Hwy. Orpheus Wines would be open Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and have space for wine tasting, an art gallery, and an educational winemaking space. Orpheus is also asking for 26 events with up to 50 people, as well as participation in seven annual industry-wide events.
Also on the agenda is a presentation by a representative from the Sonoma County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) on the county’s many fire districts – how they work and what challenges they are facing. Part of LAFCO’s charge is to promote the efficient provision of public services.
