Community covenant at Hanna

The non-profit organization Wine Country Marines, in partnership with AT&T, will hold a Community Covenant on May 24, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hanna Boys Center. The keynote speaker is Vice Admiral Charles Ray, U.S. Coast Guard, Commander of Pacific Area.

The Community Covenant signing ceremony is a powerful way to articulate the community’s commitment to its local military, active, reserve and retired. The signing is purely symbolic, but it carries a deep moral commitment actively to support service members and their families.

The community support network works with local military leadership and directly with military families to identify needed programs and services and then to implement assistance programs according to community capabilities.

Local representatives and citizens from government, nonprofits, educational institutions, social services, faith-based groups, chambers of commerce, veteran service organizations, public safety professionals and private citizens come together to identify ways to support and assist local service members, veterans, and their families.
