Fatal shooting in Glen Ellen

A fatal shooting occurred in Glen Ellen on the evening of Sept. 13 at a residence in the 4200 block of Warm Springs Road across from Jack London Estates.

A call came in at 6:55 p.m. from Hans Rosewsky, 76, stating that he had just shot his wife, Alice Rosewsky, 73, in self-defense after she attacked him with a knife.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find Hans Rosewsky, who has been seriously ill, “bedridden and believed to be non-ambulatory,” according to a sheriff press notification of the incident. Alice Rosewsky was deceased on the floor with a knife near her. She had been shot twice, once in the chest and once in the neck.

As of press time, the case was still under investigation.
