St. Patís invites community participation in Christmas concert

Anyone who would love to sing, strum a guitar, or play a part in a festive Christmas pageant is invited to join the St. Patrickís Christmas Concert, scheduled to perform on Christmas Eve and at other community events in December. Participants will practice on Sunday mornings in November and December at St. Patrickís Episcopal Church, 9000 Sonoma Hwy., Kenwood, under the direction of choir members and guitarists who have experience in working with children.

St. Patrickís is an open, welcoming community committed to serving children and families in Kenwood and surrounding areas from Sonoma to Santa Rosa. The Christmas Concert is one of several programs, including Acolytes, and Family Movie Nights, that are focused on meeting the needs of local youth. No previous experience or talent is required, just the willingness to attend practice sessions and participate.

Students wishing to play the guitar need to bring a guitar and will be provided with music and instruction. Children willing to sing and speak lines will learn new songs as well as familiar Christmas Carols. Students will be given credit for school community service hours. All participants will be provided with healthy snacks and awards for attendance at rehearsals and performances. Those who are unable to attend all rehearsals will be accommodated with take-home music and materials to ensure performance confidence.

To sign up for the St. Patrickís Christmas Concert, send name of participants, phone number and email address, if available, to St. Patrickís Christmas Concert, 9000 Sonoma Hwy., Kenwood, CA 95452, or contact Dicksie Tamanaha at dicksie.tamanaha@gmail.com.
