Prickett's Nursery plans move to VOM Plaza

If all goes according to plan, Prickett's Nursery in Rincon Valley will soon be moving to the Valley of the Moon Plaza at Sonoma Hwy. and Melita Road. While some of the details with the VOM Plaza owner still need to be ironed out, and a use permit needs approval by the county, Prickett's hopes to move operations in January. Another location for Prickett's in Healdsburg is also in the works.

At the VOM location, Prickett's will carry a large selection of annual and perennial color in 6-pack, 4-inch and 1-gallon size containers, vegetable starts, herbs, ground covers, roses, berries, fruit trees, shrubs, houseplants, pottery, statuary, and home and garden décor, as well as soils, mulches, fertilizers and plant care products. The exterior area of the new location is smaller than the current site, so there will be smaller varieties of shrubs and trees in 5-gallon containers and larger. Bigger items can be ordered and sent down from the larger Healdsburg location.

“Although there is a certain amount of sadness and of course apprehension in leaving Prickett's long-time location of 69 years, we are very excited to start anew,” said Prickett's Nursery co-owner Deanna Tubbs.

The current Prickett's site is still owned by the Prickett Family, and there have been long-standing plans to turn that property into a shopping center.

Two new stores open in Kenwood - just in time for the holidays!

Ann Beck Designs
Linda Vaccarezza and her daughter Natalie are teaming up with longtime Kenwood friends to open a new collaborative enterprise blending vintage and contemporary furniture and collectibles with trendy accessories. Linda's business is called “Fetch” offering new and gently used furnishings, and Natalie is launching “La Trouvaille” a “modern Bohemian boutique” carrying fine accessories, (leather bags from The Netherlands, Australian wool Fedora hats and jewelry made in Bali). Both are located in the Kenwood Farmhouse building at 9255 Sonoma Hwy.

Vaccarezza, a longtime supporter of charities benefitting the environment, animals, children and veterans came up with the idea of Fetch as an outlet for her passion to help others. “People are so busy, these days, Vaccarezza explains, “Fetch is a way to do nothing and do good at the same time. Simply stated, if you have furniture, household items, art, jewelry or collectibles that you no longer need, why not put that unwanted item to work to support the causes that you care about. We will “fetch” your item, (we have a big, new, shiny, blue truck) sell it and donate a portion of the proceeds to your favorite charity.” Consignment items are also welcome with the caveat that a portion of the sale price will also benefit a local school, community group or charity.

La Trouvaille, which means a “perfect” or “lucky” find in French, is currently showcasing three contemporary accessory designers.

Anna Beck Designs offers classic yet exotic necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and cuffs. Handcrafted on the island of Bali, each elegant piece is layered with tiny gold or silver disks, made using one or more ancient Balinese techniques.

PHILOMIJN, an accessories label founded in The Netherlands by Philomijn Eijssen, exemplifies the concept that design, simplicity, and functionality should go hand in hand. Craftsmen using the finest leathers bring to life the timeless style and form of PHILOMIJN bags and purses.

Lack of Color, an Australia-based accessories company, was founded by designers Robert Tilbury and Tess Corvaia who saw a gap in the market for stylish, high quality hats at an affordable price. These limited edition, beautifully colored fedora hats are made from premium Australian wool and make the ideal year-round accessory.

Fetch and La Trouvaille are open Tuesday to Thursday, 12 to 5 p.m., Friday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment.
