SVCAC to review Cavedale Road winery

At its meeting of Jan. 28, the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission (SVCAC) will take a look at a 2,000-case winery project proposed for 5700 Cavedale Road.

The panel will review a request for a use permit from Silver Clouds Vineyard for a new 2,000-case winery on a 160-acre parcel, with tasting and retail sales by appointment only. The winery is also asking the county for eight special events a year with up to 50 people maximum.

The winery itself would convert an existing trailer building. Wine would be produced from an onsite vineyard.

The SVCAC reviews development projects in Sonoma Valley and makes recommendations to the appropriate Sonoma County or City of Sonoma planning officials.

The SVCAC meets starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Sonoma Police Department’s Community Room, 177 First St. West, Sonoma.

For more information about the Jan. 28 meeting or the SVCAC in general, contact Pat Gilardi, District Director to Supervisor Susan Gorin at pat.gilardi@sonoma.county.org.
