Vacation rentals comment period ending soon
Those interested in giving their opinions about potential new rules and regulations regarding vacation rentals in Sonoma County have until June 30 to comment online.
At a May 18 workshop, Sonoma County planning staff presented a number of policy options aimed at tackling hot button issues such as overconcentration of rentals in certain neighborhoods, loss of housing stock, commercialization of residential areas, and making sure all rentals follow the same rules.
The Kenwood Press covered this workshop in its June 1 article, “Vacation Rentals Under the Microscope.”
Many of these options will be presented to the county’s Planning Commission at a public hearing on Aug. 13.
Visit the county’s Vacation Rental website, www.sonoma-county.org/VacationRentals, and submit your comments on the policy options prior to June 30. Comments received by that date will be considered by staff when forming recommendations to the Planning Commission.
