Old Kenwood farmhouse reborn

Vintage shops, yoga practice, Open House

Take Me! Take Me! – offering unique home decor and accessories – opens and joins The Painted Farm House and Lion Heart Yoga, to fully occupy the former Kenwood Farmhouse location on Sonoma Hwy. between Maple and Cypress avenues.

The original structure reputedly dates back to the 1920s, so it is fitting in this modern age to combine two antique and vintage treasure shops with the opportunity to practice the timeless art of yoga.

Debra Smith, Take Me! Take Me!’s ebullient and energetic owner, began collecting at age 17 and hasn’t looked back.

“My philosophy and practice,” said Smith, “is to hunt for beautiful and unique pieces and pass them on for a ‘good deal’ to someone who falls in love with the item.”

Get a jump on holiday shopping by attending The Painted Farm House and Take Me! Take Me!’s fall sale, with wine pouring by Laurel Glen Winery, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. You’ll find gifts for all seasons and for all reasons. For more information, email paintedfh@gmail.com.

Lion Heart Yoga offers a full weekly schedule of morning and late afternoon classes along with special weekend seminars. And now on Thursday nights at 6 p.m., a “Hatha Flow by Donation” class is offered free to the community, by instructor, Simone Grasshoff. Simone’s classes are a flow of asana, pranayama, meditation and music, to balance and encourage emotional and physical well-being. For information on all Lion Heart Yoga programs, visit www.lionheartyoga.com or contact Nadra McAuliffe at 337-5127.

The Painted Farmhouse and Take Me! Take Me! are open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 9255 Sonoma Hwy. in Kenwood.
