New County Landmarks commissioner needed
Residents of Sonoma Valley and the surrounding area interested in serving on the Sonoma County Landmarks Commission should apply for the single vacancy now open. (A map of District 1 boundaries can be viewed on the Board of Supervisors website at sonomacounty.ca.gov/Departments-Agencies/Board-of-Supervisors/.) The person appointed will serve for the remainder of Supervisor Susan Gorin’s term of office. Her current term expires at the beginning of 2017 unless she is re-elected for an additional four years this fall.
Applicants should have demonstrated special interest, experience, or education in history, architecture, or the preservation of historic resources. Commission members do not receive compensation. Information about the duties of the Sonoma County Landmarks Commission can be viewed on the county’s Historic Resource’s website.
